    This Yin AM practice is focused on opening the upper back (and with it the shoulders) to help combat the computer/texting/electronic back we are all familiar with. Tension headaches and shoulder soreness often come from tightness in the upper back, neck, shoulders and side body. This practice focuses on all of those areas with longer holds to fully release and relax. Enjoy!

    Thank you for what you do. I felt instant relief with this video and all of your videos have been life changing for me as Yin Yoga is my favourite way t practice yoga. My anxiety can be quite bad and causes a lot of tension in my upper body area and your videos really help to relieve that stress. I appreciate you!

    Thank you Aprille! Still rewatching and repractising with some of your videos. I usually focus on my hip flexors in the morning but found this routine, today, really helpful as an addition. I've been going through a lot and this has helped release some tension in my shoulders and upper back. A fantastic routine! Thank you for sharing this with us. All the best ☺️

    I must sound like a broken record when I comment on your videos...but oh well! Dealing with MAJOR right shoulder blade rib cage muscle spasms and neuralgia. This practice has done more for me than the 3 weeks of PT. LOL! I am THRILLED to begin 2023 with you. I'm tired of listening to the outside world saying cardio this strength that. I need to honor my inner Being and listen to the whisper within that's been saying "Walk and Yoga" for years!!! 2023... honor the healthy whisper for this 59 year old! Gratitude that I found you. Never had a yoga teacher, in my 20 years of exposure to yoga, who gave the perfect prompts and whose voice was so soothing, calm, non-hurrying, supportive...so meditative. Okay "soapbox" rant done! Love and Light!

    Absolutely wonderful! I have very underdeveloped lower traps (as opposed to my upper traps, which is causing a hump on my neck) This felt really good in that area. I've noticed that even in very young people, that they now have neck humps from what I assume is constantly looking at phone or laptop. Strong lower traps really help with good posture.

      Exactly. The hump is developing due to poking head out to see screens and is more and more pronounced on younger people. It's definitely something to work on and be aware of when and how we are using our bodies and the results of that use long term. Thanks for joining me on the mat today!

      I love Yin in the morning and that is my usual Yin practice time! It works really well to get deeper into the connective tissue when body is cold.     Namasté and thank you for a wonderful class. I like your variations and felt really good after the class. Maybe just one suggestion. When you show an asana, maybe show it first towards the camera, that it is easier to see what you are doing with your arms and legs. Thank you. Silke

The poses around the 23 minute marker are supported fish pose (with blanket roll under shoulders) followed by what I often refer to as goddess stretch (rolling to each side and taking the hand up overhead).
