The engineering and illusions just makes this one of your best transformers, the hood as the doors, the wheels as arm joints, and the chest actually being split is so clever and well integrated. If Lego made sets like this I WOULD BUY THEM. Seriously, I don’t care what negative things others will say this is just PERFECTION.

LEGO. nobody has ever thought of this before, because lego is a whole different style of engineering, and to make a transformer, you would have to have godly engineering, certain lego parts, specific sets, and a keen mind. you, sir, are a legend. these are the best and most accurate lego transformers toys ive ever seen, even if they are the first and only. you have my approval along with the 19,000 others.
That's a really smart transformation. I ended up making my muscle car inspired transformer at a slightly larger scale because I couldn't get something this small to work. Like you, I wanted the hood of the car to be the chest, but I also wanted the boot of the car to be feet, so I had to make things bigger to get the transformation to work the way I wanted. In some ways, I think you made a great decision to not stick to your design goals in terms of how the parts fit on the final robot because it looks absolutely amazing even if the details cheat a bit to get the same feel, and that's important because this Bumblebee looks amazing in both car and robot forms. Great job!
He looks a bit too pinheaded that way. I feel that the square 1x1 does a good job making his eyes pop more and the corners somewhat resemble the little flaps on his helmet.
I just had an idea if you can keep that design and make a first movie barricade you can make the arm blasters that can stick on the front look like how barricade transformed his headlights into those weird spike things

I used to have loads of multicoloured rubish Lego transformers that I for some reason loved until my mum carelessly chucked into the Lego box and broke
Just finished building this set. Was quite a challenge to get the number of the pieces together. Two nights of work. And I understand why Lego does not jump on it... Man you really make these moving parts come into place effortlessly... This is the most fiddly set I have ever build. Had to come up with all my patience. If this bumblebee went into war he would have fallen apart in an instance :-) nevertheless you have some revolutionary ideas how to use some parts. Nice job. Thank you.

I built my own version, a little finicky, but still looks awesome! I'm making sort of an "Anti-Bumblebee" in grays, because that's all I have for colors in those parts.
