    First off excellent Mark you tipped 100 subs keep going 👍. Great idea about the tarps and yep if it kills off the weeds then it’s a bonus come spring. That’s me the clod I’m always tripping or banging my head 😂😂. Spring will be a very exciting time and I for one can’t wait. Have a super week keep warm and stay safe 🎄🧑‍🎄⛄️👍

    Hi, just got they key to my very first allotment! I am very excited to get stuck in and have found your channel great for learning. Thank you

      How exciting to get stuck in. Thanks for watching. I recommend my Tackling The Plot and Transforming The Plot series for ideas, but hopefully all videos will give you ideas of what to do. My plot was completely overgrown and un-useable when I took it over and it’s been a long hard road, but it’s nearly how I want it to be. Don’t give up, it’s hard work, but so worth it.

    Good job with the tarp when it comes off ground would be easier to work 😊

      That’s the plan. I used it a bit at the start when I first got the plot, but this is a much bigger area.

    Nice work…. Please watch out on some of the wood you’ve weighed your tarp down with tho… I spotted nails sticking out x

      @GrowingWithPlot21  2 года назад

      Yes, I couldn’t get much wood without nails in. Definitely don’t want an accident!

    Hey new to your channel we have just took over an allotment over 3 weeks ago it was a blank canvas apart from the jungle of weeds but were making good progress looking forward to learn some tips :) we have also started vlogging it on our channel so we can look back next year to see how far we have come

      It’s so good to keep a record of how things go. I’ve had the plot for 2 years and when I look back I realise how far I’ve come.

    Wondering if the previous plot holder came and took the rhubarb crown?

    • @GrowingWithPlot21
      @GrowingWithPlot21  11 месяцев назад +1

      I had brought one down to the plot from home. No spoilers, but it was there just extra hidden :)

      Hi. It’s 15m x 7m which is 105 square meters. If you check out my Planning The Plot video here: Allotment Life | Planning The Plot

      it goes into some detail about the measurements and what I wanted to do with the plot.

    Put cardboard and woodchips around the fruit bushes........keep down weeds and will also rot down.

    • @GrowingWithPlot21
      @GrowingWithPlot21  2 года назад

      Thanks for suggestion. I’ve been collecting cardboard, as I’ll be doing some no dig beds, but didn’t think about use it around the tree.

    That might be foxes digging where the rhubarb was. Hopefully not moles.

    In freezing weather I would suggest you avoid walking on the beds

    • @GrowingWithPlot21
      @GrowingWithPlot21  2 года назад

      There’s no actual beds at the moment. The covering is to kill the weeds/grass etc so next year I can make the beds. I only have 2 working beds, which aren’t covered.
