I made this shortly before Easter and I have been debating ever since whether or not I should post it on RUclips. Well, here goes. This video was completely spur of the moment, I wasn't even planning to make it, but I ended up throwing it together late one night. Anyway, I hope you like it.

Even though this movie got a lot of critics, for me this movie is one of the most remakable movie I've ever seen. Lets put aside about historical accuracy, I think this movie was never supposed about war history itself, but about every story behind a battle, every lover that being left, every wife, mother, father, sister, or brother that got to say goodbye and would never see their family again, about what a war cost us.
But still, I found the ending is quite depressing. I know that it is needed to solve the love triangle problem between them, and the only way out is to kill either Rafe or Danny. But since, it would be so ridiculous to get Rafe killed twice, they didnt have any other choice. And it felt make sense, cause Danny and Evelyn moment was kinda a borrowed happiness when Rafe gone. But, it still bothers me that Evelyn looked that okay after Danny gone. I know she loved Rafe more. But, gosh girl, she looked so in love with Danny too after Rafe was declared died! She looked like she was fine about who died and who came back alive as long as she wouldnt be alone.
And that sweet Danny Walker, he really did deserve better.
This is so painfully beautiful. Such a tragic story for all three of them, and you did a wonderful job at highlighting it with your editing.

My brother commited suicide we were just as same young as main characters, this movie is the best memory for him and of course the soundtrack. I wish he could die the way in movie, then I could know what were his last thoughts.

Rafe was always good friend and brother to Danny. Well we all know what Danny did. Evelyn is not good either. I felt bad for Rafe. He shouldn't have accepted her in the end. And atleast I was happy Danny died.
Rafe never had sex with her. When he returns she's pregnent with Danny's child. Some friend Danny is.

There was no betrayal. Rafe was dead according to everyone, they just kept on living. How can you rejoice over someone's death ? I liked Danny from the first minute... Because he was so sweet, so clumsy but also an exceptional man. We don't choose who we fall in love with, life imposes it on us and we can't do anything about it ! I preferred Evelyn's relationship with Danny. I found more passion, more complicity, more depth...
Between Rafe and Evelyn, everything happened much too quickly. And I don't like relationships that are too quick in general.
Danny has been a real support for Evelyn throughout the film... it is he who announces Rafe's "death", he who consoles her, who goes to see her, who eases her pain and dries her tears. It is with him that she starts to smile again, that she starts to live again, with him that she turns the page...
I think we have to look beyond " He stole his best friend's girlfriend " ! Rafe was supposed to be killed in action, Danny just wanted to support Evelyn and help her, what happened was not premeditated, he fell in love with her and she fell in love with him, it was natural and without second thoughts.
For me, Evelyn and Rafe, it happened too quickly, they had a good time, they fell in love, too quickly no doubt (and I don't like it when it's too quick) then he decided to leave for the war... they all thought he was dead, including us. Between Danny & Evelyn, I found in their relationship more... Natural ? Maybe not more love but... I also found more complicity, more passion, sincerity, more purity, rarity... I quite simply found their relationship truer, more realistic...
And I ask you the question again : How can we rejoice at the death of someone ? how can we rejoice that an innocent little boy will be deprived of his daddy ?
It's cruel.
