God, I miss when MK was creepy and atmospheric. Deception is so good. Onaga is insane lore wise and his fight was tough as balls. When 10-year-old me figured out that destroying the Kamidogu weakened him and started wrecking him with style-branch combos as Shujinko, me and my sister were screaming at the TV in excitement. I'll never forget that. My fondest gaming memories came from this game.
I couldn’t say it better) for me this is an example of the ideal atmosphere for a fighting game MK) Because of the atmosphere, you really felt like you were in a creepy environment where confrontations between fighters take place, where the price of defeat is death
@@jamesedwardladislazerrudo1378 If you're talking about the figure who appears in the thunder, it's Onaga. The main villain and final boss of Deception. If you're talking about the banner, I think it's just Deception in Chinese...but I could be wrong.
yup as soon as mk 11 imp was made they switched to a comic book style instead of a Video game one and its a shame imp i miss the old versh of the char like scorpion
Man I remember getting this game early 2000s on Christmas! My grandparents got me the ultimate edition with Sub Zero being on the cover of the game case and then my younger cousin recieved DBZ Budokai 2 I believe... good times.
@@daytimeninja7888 They said "early 2000s" not that it came out in the year 2000. Don't tell someone to get their facts straight if you aren't doing the same.
They literally talk about Shaolin Monks all of the time. Asian Basic Samurai Cultures what does that even mean? Samurais are Japanese and were feudal warlords that acted as levies for the clan leaders and as well as the emperor. Mortal Kombat was influenced by the Americanized Perception of Asian culture in the 80’s mostly Chinese. Movies like Big Trouble in little China, Bruce Lee movies and other Kung Fu related media. Raiden is the god of thunder in Japanese mythology named Raijin although the Chinese share a similar figure in their mythology. MK is it’s own thing but it has some cliche Americanized view of Asian culture but it really became it’s own unique thing and I would call it an American brand.
@@NoxLegend1I think he’s saying that because of certain character costumes. Hotaru’s, Sub Zero’s, and Li Mei’s alt outfit all resemble samurai armor. Hotaru even uses a Naginata. Of course that’s not to say every character has an outfit akin to what he said.

THIS IS Mortal Kombat. I miss this Era so much. WB Games and NRS made a superhero tale out of MK

I like when flash of lighting with the dragon appeared of the flash.
Use this to go to bed … love it
Until MK1, this was the last time Mortal Kombat truly felt like Mortal Kombat. This aesthetic is unmatched
I miss this game a lot & eerie atmosphere from it…you’re the goat for uploading an extended version 🔥
La mejor ambientación de cualquier juego de Mortal Kombat la tiene MK Deception 🙏🏽
Why NRS would choose orchestrated music over the dark yet amazing ambience of Deception is beyond me. Deception is truly the best sounding MK game.
Love this ambient Thankyou, I used to listen to this all the time when this came out, also on the MK deception website too when it was live
It's all about that Zombie Liu Kang
0:06 Onaga!!! 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

Thnank you so much for posting. I love you !!!
So what was Deception's design making this game again? Some Old Asian basic Samurai cultures or what?
I would say Chinese dynasty era. Mortal kombat is influenced by Chinese culture.
