As someone who isn't African and has had jollof 3 times in their life I could instantly tell his would win. The others rice was pretty pale and I wasn't sure if that was normal as most that I've seen and had has looked like Michael's. Also his goat looked good the presentation was interesting. Plantain is pretty hard to mess up so I don't doubt it was good so yeah. Gift gave me the (and I hate saying this word) ick like legit how she acted gave me the ick. And Lola was also funny and I did like her character.
I didn't even need to see his. I'm white as fuck, the rice the women made looked like something I would whip up when trying to make jollof rice. Not that it looked bad, but that it looked gentrified. Then seeing his I could see the culture put behind it and in his words. Michael may have talked shit about the first two, but he was able to back it up so that's respectable.
Madam with carrot in her jollof is saying goat meat doesn’t pair with jollof…which one na be this one? 😂 Michael’s jollof was the only one w the right color. Loved Lola’s energy. I liked when Gift said a Nigerian win is a win but abeg redo your recipe 😭
Michael's jollof was spot on. Only thing is goat meat does have a powerful flavor so when paired in a stew form with jollof it will interfere with the taste. I like my jollof more on the dry side so I probably would have asked for my goat stew on the side.
this reminds me of a boy in my class who always talks abt how easy exams are and walks out halfway thru lessons cus it’s “common sense” but seems to fail at every exam

Hello big fan of this show! Please consider making the audio louder for those who are hard of hearing. Other than that everything is great quality very professional can hear y’all clearly for the most part so keep making bomb content we love you!🎙️💐
I don't know how I came across this channel, but I love every video that I have clicked on. It is very entertaining and keeps me laughing at some of the comments from the contestants. I just subscribed! God Bless. ❤
Most people on BPT: this recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. It is a family secret recipe. Made by my great-great-great-great aunt Lola: Y O U T U B E (and mama)
This is just each person stating their personal preferences as facts. Jollof does not need to be spicy or smoky. We are not all Yorubas. Carrot and similar vegetables do have a place in jollof if you want them to be.
This channel is always a lovely breath of fresh air. I've noticed a pattern though, us men seem to be winning more than half the time; surprised yet not. Now I'm hungry 😅
Oluwa: there's nothing called "best culture". There's only culture and everyone has one. Not everything is comparable. I hope you read this comment and get educated. Our continent and our race must move past this petty and pointless competition.
Michael's looked the best imo. Gift seemed like she tried to give him a low score on purpose by making an irrelevant complaint about the pairing with the goat.
Thanks to the editor for including Michael's explanation of how to make it! I've never found the right recipe and I just know this would be so delicious if I made it correctly
Why would anyone complain about having different flavors in a dish, food is meant to be about different flavors🤣🤣she was just being critical for no reason at all
Would love to see Senegal represented in a Jollof challenge, they have the best Jollof rice! Nigeria this, Ghana that, I'm just from the Midwest but from every jollof I've tried in Chicago... Senegal wins
Gift was tryna downplay Michael's jollof. I loved Lola's energy and honesty
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to peep that
She was lol. That goat lowkey changed her life 😅
Yes she was
Hater
😂she was but i knew he had it once i saw that plate
She downplayed everyone's dish
Lol he talked his ish and backed it up

Once I saw Michael's, I was like "Yes, this IS jollof rice" and he deservedly won.
Literally

Gift adds what??? CINNAMON??? This is news to me as a Nigerian 😂😂😂
Lola got me cracking up 🤣🤣🤣 “just give me 5 minutes”
The correlation between yapping critics and poor performance in food preparation needs to be studied.

The carrots in the jollof are the equivalent of white people putting raisins in potato salad! 🤭🤭🤭
Only white Americans put raisins in potato salad. Just thinking about it gives me the ick
😂😂😂
Thanks😂 now I understand the severity.
When Lola said Chinese food it took me out.😂
Okay, but potato salad isn't like a specific dish tied to a specific region of the world. Every country does it differently.
gotta give lola her props on doing decently considering it was her first time making it
Gift is a gift best left unboxed.
😅😂
Stop 😭💀😂
with her carrot and cinnamon😭

Ikr! The veggies and the choice of rice too. 😂 jollof ain’t meant to be healthy. You can never go wrong with long grain parboiled rice.

No it's annoying it gets to a point atp your just begging it.

as soon as michael mentioned par boiling the rice - i knew he knew what he was talking about. looks delicious.
i said “hey! 🙆🏾♀️” when i saw gift’s jollof rice 😭
Maybe Gift thought she was asked to prepare Nigerian fried rice instead because what was that? 😭 It was yellow lol. I got so confused upon seeing it
Yeah im not even nigerian , never had jollof rice (yet) but hers looked off
When Lola said Gift's Jollof looks like Chinese food. That comment took me out. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Michael's jollof literallly made my mouth water and he has that Naija swag - chef's kiss.
Michael's rice just LOOKED like it was fire! 🤤
Michael is an authentic Omo Yoruba 🤣❤️
I love Lola's vibe too😊
Why did gift put cinnamon in her Jollof 😭😭😭😭
Aunty Gift, you add cinnamon and carrots to jollof rice???!!! Even Ghanaians won't accept your burnt offering 😭
Honestly at the beginning of the video i expected the americanized plate from lola. But l was in shock seeing gifts plate 😭
there is no bay leaf without jollof ke?😂

When are we going to have jollof warz?? I can’t wait to see this! Ghana vs. Nigerian!! Let’s gooooo!!!!
That's no need to have any jollof war I think. Every west African country have their unique way of making the dish so they're all good.

Michael was educating me about Jollof. He deserved the win.
Gift's rice looked more like unfinished fried rice than jollof, that would explain the carrots at least T-T
