  • In this video, we're looking at one of the oddest wedding traditions in all of Scotland- the testing of endurance and commitment.
    Scotland is known for its spectacular scenery and unique culture, but one of its strangest traditions is the testing of endurance and commitment. Two people who want to get married have to run a kilometer (3/4 of a mile) as quickly as they can, without either of them stopping. If they can finish the kilometer in under 10 minutes, they're allowed to get married. If they stop or fail the test, their marriage is called off.
    So what does this tradition mean? We don't know for sure, but it probably has something to do with the traditional Scottish beliefs
