The "Dino attack" set back then was so cool, but too sad it got discontinued sometime in the early 2000s. So that was a shame. But i wish i could get my hands on it, if i found one, obviously.

The Mata Nui Online Game is a masterpiece, even today. It’s incredible how the art style still holds up really well, and showcases the beauty of Mata Nui’s various locales. Its worldbuilding is intriguing, the music’s incredible and the characters are all endearing. Easily the most atmospheric thing to ever come out of Bionicle
I actually started playing it recently and it is awesome. Though when I got to a certain part, the game just softlocked and I couldn't continue playing and had to start all over again. TwT
When I was a kid I dint know what I was doing so I couldn't get past the beginning but I sill liked the game

12:30 for the wooden bridges, all you gotta do is press shift to transform into the normal car mode, also the metal bridges are have to be activitated by a green button located somewhere around the map.

3:34 the irony is that spider in set form was barely half as big as your robot supposed to be.
The Mata Nui adventure one was very in depth and the timeline it covers is where the Toa first arrive, leading to the first showdown with Makuta, but has a stinger ending introducing the Bohrok. It was freaking great, partly because you got a codex on the Matorin (Tohunga) written language and anything that wasn't a conversation you were in was something you had to translate on your own. It even was touched on in the movie when Jaller and T̸̫̲͔̘̳̹̕̕A̴͖̖̣̣͔͍̬͚K̛̘̲̗̺̞̗͈̝̥͘͞U̪͉͎̫̺̻͡͞ͅA̶͕̜̲͓̪̜̗ͅ encounter the Onu-Koro Highway.

You'll probably never be able to read this given how many thousands of comments you must get, but I just wanted to say thank you. So many of the old games and animations far back in my childhood, buried waaaaay deep in my brain were brought back into my memory because of your videos. We've shared near-identical interests growing up it seems, despite being on different hemispheres, and seeing someone share in the joy that that stuff gave me makes me impossibly happy. i remember rage-quitting alpha team and dino attack
i eventually figured-out how to beat dino attack, YEARS after its release, shortly before lego starting axing the old game pages... [ofc, people just started loading the game files directly, and apparently someone was busy archiving all of them. eventually lego deleted the game files, too]
for fun, a friend and i played with cheat engine on it later
we had partial success, but we kept causing it to crash, notably on the bosses

A million childhood memories flood to me whenever I find a video of bolt talking about his childhood.
I can't thank you enough for this video man, these gems were huge in my childhood and I found back some forgotten games thanks to you! Especially the Bionicle ones (the Mata Nui one) that used to be on the Bionicle website, it inspired me so much as a kid, there was so much lore that I never got to finish it. I know at least some of these games are on Flashpoint (including the shockwave ones) so that's where I play some of them now.
Seeing a Button Smashers playthrough for the Mata Nui Online game would be pretty cool..

Bionicle is hands down the best Lego series ever created. Thank you for reminding me of my childhood. Piraka/Inika were the only complete sets I had as a kid.

This is amazing! I forgot about Junkbot until I saw your video. Do you remember a certain Lego Racing Game that had some kind of animations, not sure if top down like DinoAttack one, but you could buy upgrades and there were also teams you could choose such as 'Maverick' and 'Nitro' or whatever.
Wait, you got Glatorian arena working?? O_O I thought it was retroactively ruined by Unity.. Damn. Maybe my computer is the one being weird...
Also, shutout for giving MNOG a good review. It really is a hidden gem of game design, that I would argue single handedly saved lego from bankruptcy.
unity really is a garbage engine, and there are people who developed with it who would attest to that.
there are also plenty of examples where the support staff were useless/unprofessional in helping devs with their issues
there's a much bigger problem with buggy and/or low-quality games than flash EVER had, too...
but then again, clickers/idlers are probably mostly to blame for that.
people want to make games with tons of in app purchases and/or loot crates.
they don't want to make games people actually enjoy playing, or that work correctly
i'd say the fault running it is with unity. i never once got a unity3d game to run. i eventually got tired of it crashing my browser and disabled it. the webGL builds kinda work [assuming the computer/browser supports webGL], but still have weird bugs/crashes/error messages/etc...
i as a rule don't install stand-alone unity games, but i know trying glatorian arena once and it not working... this was before the plugin kept crashing my browser and/or suffering major graphical errors.
in any case, sounds like the game isn't much besides some fancy graphics...

Aw yeah, this video takes me back to those days when I poured hours on the Lego website doing whatever I felt like. The only game I played the most was Lego City: Time To Build, so that portion of the video was most nostalgic to me.
The Lego Super Heroes Games were pretty good.
But THE QUEST FOR R2-D2 WAS THE BEST FLASH GAME EVER MADE.

It's been a while, but here's part of what I remember from online LEGO games: I liked the Pharaoh's Quest game, and Ninjago had Spinjitzu Smash. And you also had the Quest for R2-D2, which was a Unity game or some such.

There was this Lego City game I was obsessed with. You could play as tons of different vehicles and do anything. It ended with you getting chased by a giant robot

i took a look because i was curious, the file that contains the text is overwritten by a bunch of chinese...
it's still there, as are its original contents...
but, as far as the computer is concerned, it's corrupted and unreadable
as i understand, the reason these games did this was for localization reasons.
there was a dialogue.xml file containing all the text for every language that was chosen for support
Most of the games doing this have no default text, so it's undefined/null, far as the computer is concerned
this also happens if loading the game directly, because it relies on some embed parameters to load the file, rather than being pre-configured to

I remember this old lego game I used to play, it was tied in with another game that let you make your own lego figure and then you could put that figure into this game where you could make your own levels using tons of cool weapons, gadgets, and lego bricks. My favorite part was either the water you could add or the teleporters and I always remember that the game was tied into lego super agents or something like that.
