My first exposure to Ruth was yesterday, watching her sing Life Is Long. Time froze for me in those few minutes. It's like she knows what my heart is trying to say about my late wife. The voice of an angel.
Recently my eldest sister passed on the 24th of October at 11am due to a combination of two life-long medical conditions. I woke up at noon, turned on my computer, went to youtube, and this was in my recommendations. It was the first song I listened to that day despite not yet knowing she had passed. I played The Wailin' Jennys One Voice and their cover of Wildflowers to her when I visited her before her passing while she was unresponsive. Thank you for the wonderful and gorgeous music you and your bandmates have made throughout all these years. It has really helped me through many hard times.
This is the first time i heard this and i read yourue comment. And literally cried for your loss i lost my sister this past yesr i feel your pain our sister's are free of pain and i feel that i pray you find comfort in that like ylur comment brought me solace just thinking bought my sister in heaven god bless live jade 💗 rogers

Superb. Fantastic. Incredible. Amazing. Astounding. There simply aren't enough superlatives in the English language to accurately describe just how spectacularly moving Ruth Moody's soul-stirring and sublime vocals are. Truly a one-in-a-million voice.
My heart goes out to your. I lost my Dad ~5 years ago to brain cancer and this song made me think of him immediately. Keep your head up and remember good times. He's always with you.

I was an old folkie from the '60s and '70s and loved DVR, Joan Baez and think I sat in a sit-in where she played, but she was on the other side of Boston common, so I'm not sure. what I am sure of is that I had a little Nikkormat I too pictures of the rit ops cracking skulls at that sit in, which I stuffed back into the bag I made out of a gas mask bag, so the Skullcrackers woulnd't know it was a camera, and it savd me one time, as they did think it was a gas mask. they even pointed at me and said, "Lookit this one, he's even got a gas mask." lucky for me. I played 12-sring badly, autoharp ok and recorder well, making up a set of variations for Babrbar Allen that captivated a frightened Boradroom type because it puzzled him how some hippei's "silly wooden flute" could enthrall him so. he assumed I had had lice like all of us who had beards and long hair, so he stood of and litened to Babrara Allen, a little further away than head lice cuould jump.
