IMO, these are the most skilled farriers on RUclips...at least of the ones I've watched. Making custom horseshoes from a bar of steel is magical. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, do you allow people to watch? It's THAT cool.
@@melanisticmandalorian I have no idea how old you are, and don’t judge me here…but do you remember Gene Gene the Dancing Machine on the Gong Show? That chicken immediately took me back to that! 🤣🤣
It's stunning AND refreshing to see a farrier fit the shoe to the hoof, and not the other way around, which is so wrong and seen so much in farriers today. You are an excellent farrier!
To the angel did this work it’s a masterpiece. You were the people that I admire in life not football players or basketball players like you to take pride in relieving the suffering of our fellow critters. Bless you.
Nice job. I enjoyed watching this farrier at work. He was calm, gentle and moved slow which is perfect for horses. Great attention to detail and neat finish.
I had a horse that came to me w messed up feet from a bad farrier. He did not even want to be caught for any reason. Took a few months and a few visits w a decent farrier fixing his feet for him to calm down and not fight. Once he understood the new guy helped and his feet no longer hurt, he was good to go and liked being ridden after that. He had quite the spunk for an old man! Jubilee was a good horse.
I don’t know how I ended up here, but here’s where I stayed till the finish. Fascinating to say the least. How do they get the horses to stay put for everything that needs to be done? Unreal...
They usually tie a lead rope to the horse to keep them still. And if they've been getting regular hoof work done, the horse gets used to it and doesnt fidgit as much as a new horse might.
If the horse is being properly cared for it’s having its hooves handled/checked nearly every day and getting trimmed or shod every six to eight weeks. Sort of like if you handle your dog’s paws every day and take it to the groomer regularly it won’t have a problem having its nails trimmed
@@platedlizard Hello, thank you for the information about the horses hoofs. I had wondered about how often their feet had to be taken care of, now I know:) My gosh, I suppose if a person had a number of horses they might tend their own, if that was an option. We never owned horses, we ran cattle on our land. Although we did have a horse that seemed to think he lived at our place, he was right at home. He used to open their large gate,16’ cross the old road and straight into our place. We didn’t mind, but we were getting concerned about his safety. I found him one day walking and grazing up the side of the road. Not much traffic at all, but then all it takes is one vehicle for an accident, or someone with a pickup to load him in. Well again thank you for giving of your time. Stay well.
I find these video incredibly important, although not having ridden for many years, I was rarely around when the farrier came--and over the years it became increasingly difficult to get a farrier for a "hot shoe". Seeing how a horses hoof, foot if you will, takes so much punishment including deformities from lack of care among other causes, this work is among the encyclopedia of hoof "mishaps", new and fascinating, to me! I only ever saw basic shoe replacement. If you care about horses you always need to be learning.
I read their website. They are a school, and depending on what you want, they have 4-8+ week courses. You can start at the beginning of any month and live on campus.
I like watching that tool bring the top of the cut metal nail flat against the hoof - magical. Clever how they use the cling film & acrylic to fill the gaps. Very interesting. 🐴🐴🐴😊
These are amazing! I was wondering when the shoe comes off will the acrylic come off too or will that stay in shape? Or with the hoof growing will it start to chip away naturally?
What about those cracks? One is all the way to the coronet band in front. One on the inside has been to the coronet band often enough that the hoof is weakened all the way up (thus the wrinkling up the hoof on the inside front crack and the large chip at the bottom making the hoof need special treatment), and one is 1/2 the way up the hoof. Hiding them under acrylic isn't going to stop the cracks from climbing, becoming infected, or injuring the coronet band...
A good sharp tool, just what the job calls for, nice to see. So many of these I watch and the farrier is struggling with a dahl trimming tool. Dahl tools in need of sharpening are dangerous to the tradesmen and the animal.
I'm amazed that horses, etc...are still shod the same way and virtually NO advances have been made to alter this time tested tradition. Acrylics, etc...are sometimes used but not much has changed. I guess the first person to have come up with this method was a genius since it has lasted for so long.
All the natural sounds of your work and of the barn. Soooo appreciate that there is no music overlay.
Country sounds, but country is also cruel, re treatment of animals, ( a country person)
It's actually soothing because I have associated those sounds with a person trying to help a horse.
Why would they put music in these videos when most of the time they are explaining what they're doing

That is one very chatty hen.
I'm thinking there's a fresh egg in a nest somewhere close!

That chicken has a good beat… but it’s hard to dance too. 😁
@@trevorjarvis3050 You just need to add a drumbeat to her.

I swear i never imagined watching cows and horses hooves getting trimmed would be so fascinating. Superb job.
I love watching you save horses by improving bad hoof care. God Bless you and your work.
Would love to see how the horse walks before and after they've been treated, great to see a craftsman at work.
These hoof trimming channels sure bring to light how many animals get their hooves neglected
It is wonderful to watch the progression of ideas and skills in hoof recovery.
Все, как у людей🙂 замечательный мастер!👍👏
Love the chicken clucked her little heart out! And love to watch you work!

Loved how the farrier was gentle with this horse and showing respect, well done sir.
What I find amazing with all these videos is that the horse understands its good for him and is completely compliant.
I've watched hoof trimming for over 55 years, and by far your one of the best.
Absolute attention to detail, balance , comfort and performance..
С такой любовью делаете свою работу! 🙂
Loved and subbed. Saving horses...one hoof at a time!
Nice job. I enjoyed watching this farrier at work. He was calm, gentle and moved slow which is perfect for horses. Great attention to detail and neat finish.
That chicken has THINGS to SAY 🤣🤣
Along with how amazed I am with the skill of this farrier is the calm behavior of the horses.👍👍👍
They're like mmm. Yes. Do that thing that feels good.

the hen's are in good mode all spices of them :-D
Love watching your videos! Love from Waco. ❤️🌹
I’m only here to read comments about the background chicken 🐔
These videos are amazing to watch the transformation before your eyes! These farriers are so talented
Zapatitos nuevos . ¡Qué belleza !
Felicitaciones al señor que se los hizo . ¡ Ese señor sí , puede llamarse herrero !
So nice to see chickens walking around in the background; it's so "country". Love watching the fine job they do with all these horses with problems!
Amazing job, all of you BRAVO

That hoof jack helps quite a bit...

Thanks for telling me that. It sure is nice having so many choices for what to watch and learn.

You guys do nice work! I like the way you adapt to the problem and fix and repair accordingly,

Nice job!

I assume the acrylic wares with time and needs to be replaced periodically
Is the acrylic like an epoxy or how does it cure/become hard? Neat use of stretch wrap. 👍👍
She got her acrylics did~
amazing

That chook. 😂😂
Neat!

Horses getting acrylic nails, soon they are gonna want shellac, too.
That rooster sounds like it was set on repeat.

What's the name of the acrylic you use and where do you purchase it at?
