I used to have a 42'sailboat made from Ferrocement! it lasted for about 15 yrs until one September gale tied to the dock it stove in the port side and was unrepairable! so my next 62' boat was made of C-Flex fiberglass planking and this ketch still sails the globe to day!
*I made my sail boat out of BASALT fiber so it could ram Coral reefs with not chance of sinking. The bottom is 15 layers of 5x5 cloth (1/2" thick) and we shot it with a 44 Magnum pistol. All six bullets bounced right off. Basalt is 20X tougher than fiberglass and equal to Kevlar just much more economical. In 10 more years your going to see a BASALT revolution. In Australia Surfers really like their basalt surfboards since sharks can't even bite through them!!!*
Ferro Cement is a special mix of the finest sharp sand mixed 2 to 1 and with 15% of the sand replaced with a Pozzlan such as Silica sand or Diatamasious Earth, I add a pinch of Trioxide to stop the galvanic reaction on wire membrane. as for boat building.
@@testname9261 So, you first expressed a negative opinion, on the composition of Ferro Cement, that you cannot substantiate and which you are unsure of. And now you say that the entire concept is "bad"? Why? Surely you have some thoughtful and rational reasons for your statements? Or do you intuitively and randomly suck 'thoughts' from the air and pepper them around the planet for no particular reason?

cuando la humedad alcanza las armaduras...todo se hincha y descascarilla...atencion a impermeabilizar en superficie...aunque el mortero indique que es impermeable...cualquier poro arruina el trabajo.
Brother, perhaps before you make such declarations you should go to God and ask him. The Lord has shown me that there is more to matter then meets the eye.
I haven't seen anything about ferrocement in years...when building a home you use insulating material behind the chicken wire and you can then spray the ferrocement onto the wire .. I guess the lumber and building materials lobby keeps this from being a common building method...it was even used to build large yacht hulls
This is commendable theory for beginners. I learnt my ferro-cement tanks construction from your site here. Thank and believe to learn more technics.
Fantástico. Maria, qual é o traço do revestimento? areia, cimento... e o que mais? Agradeço me repassar. Abraço. Ramon Samaúma
Bom dia meu amigo, qual a altura correta pra um tanque?
Um grande abraço do canal Granja santo Expedito

This is not informative because you have not included any useful specifications for your materials, looks good though, and good for bragging.
Exactly. I was hoping to learn more.
Very nice but that tank will be a bed full of mosquitos.
