    Good old days, where 757s were as common as the A320 is today! Loved that shot of two Air 2000 757s taxiing and one peeled off to an earlier runway entry.

    Excellent video. Some great old liveries, Air Canada, Aer Lingus, Delta, Cathay Pacific. Old airlines, Britannia, Air 2000, Air UK, British World. And of course, the old Landor livery.

    Excellent clip and happy memories, like deja vu. I remember that late morning line up very well and spent many days in that pub garden as a child with my Flightcheck booklet wishing I could fly on one of those jumbo jets and legacy carriers somewhere, instead of the UK charters lol although Air 2000 were excellent in the earlier years they were formed. I think we received a bucks fizz before breakfast and a menu card was given out with the meal service! How times have changed

    Taylor - I don't, unfortunately, have exact dates on these clips but it would either have been to Los Angeles or New York.

    Mark , This Will Have Been Somewhere Between 1990 and 1994 As the Cathay 744 was with the Union Jack on its tail(probable via Frankfurt days) and Qantas (via Heathrow,Bangkok and Melbourne ,Outbound only Inbound was via Singapore)ceased flying direct from Manchester at the end of 1994.

      You are absolutely correct. The American 767 in this video N379AA was delivered in early 1993.

      I reckon 92-94 since Delta started flying June 91 with a 767-300 then moved to Tristar and sometimes A310 there-afterwards and if the QF stopped after Codeshare with BA in 94, so perhaps 93 if that AA 763 was delivered that year too

    Why was Qantas and Ba the only ones who acquired the RR power plant option on the their 767s?

    • @matthewcorcoran2891
      @matthewcorcoran2891 3 года назад

      It was BA and China Yunnan Airlines who were the only airlines who ordered the RR powered Boeing 767-300’s.
      Qantas inherited theirs of BA when in the early 2000’s they leased them off British Airways, and later purchased them outright.
      China Yunnan Airlines was purchased by China Eastern Airlines in 2003, and China Eastern inherited their Boeing 767-300’s.

      BA used to operate MAN-JFK on the B767; also BHX-JFK, GLA-JFK using B757 and B767's

      They flew via Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Zurich.

      @@styal5 Also Paris CDG as CX 260 3 x a week on Tue,Thur and Sun) with the Amsterdam route being CX 270 4 x a week (Mon,Wed,Fri and Sat),the Zurich Routing was CX 290 on days when it used to route via Frankfurt as CX 288 before that routing was dropped in 1994 and replaced with Zurich (Don't Know the reason why,since it was popular with TAS members for trips),there was a possibility of CX292 to Rome FCO (in lieu of some CDG CX260 flights)being extended to MAN but that didn't come to fruition. The Saturday service was at ALL times via Schiphol as CX 270.
