Well everyone the driver side C light has gone out again and will not reliably turn on. I'll have to reach out to Spyder again and see if there is something on my end that is wrong. It is just so odd that the passenger side has had no issues. Only thing I can think is the single power supply to both C lights is insufficient and may be causing an issue.
To follow up on this Syder said it is likely a circuit board issue which will require a disassemble of the headlights. The only thing I can think of on my end would be maybe splitting the power supply from only one fuse wasn't enough power and prematurely made the C light fail. It's just so strange that the passenger side has not had any issues.
Update 12/4/18: So I have had these for just about a year and they had been working great. At the beginning of November the driver side "C" shaped light stopped working. It would either not turn on at all or just have the bottom 3" or so try to light up. I troubleshot the problem and checked fuses and even hooked the "C" light up to direct power to eliminate a bad ground or a short somewhere. The problem has persisted and it appears as though the lights inside the "C" are the problem. In order to fix this you would have to open the housing and then go through and diagnose the problem. THIS IS NOT WORTH IT TO ME. For the time being I have disconnected the wires and capped them to disable the "C" lights. I contacted Spyder directly who stated they only supply a one year warranty but stated they may be able to exchange the driver headlight for me once they have one in stock. Which they did not have for some odd reason for a major corporation. We shall see if they hold up their end of the bargain when I call back in a few weeks. For now I would NOT recommend anyone buys these headlights if you want this feature. Not only have I had this issue but I know of three other people who have had the same issue conveniently right after the one year warranty mark.
These lasted me A little over a year, at first I noticed they would flicker when I would accelerate, and thought it was the wiring since I ran power through the engine fuse, so I ran a separate relay but that only fixed it for a couple of days before the driver side stopped working.
Thanks for the video! I have a 2012 gmc duramax and was looking at getting these. My only concern was what they would look like if I put my switchback led bulbs for the turn signal to match my tow mirrors. 🤔
None of them ever last. I gave up on them altogether. Between myself and perhaps a dozen other friends/acquaintances, all DRL tubes have failed. They don't last long and arent serviceable if a bulb goes out. The majority of those buying some headlights are buying them online from a vendor who is not the manufacturer, probably not even in your state, and I doubt cares wether or not your lights you just drop 2 or 4 or 600 bucks on work for a year or a day

Hey Scott i purchased my headlights after watching how awesome they made your truck look! But i wanna upgrade to white LED man do you have any advice i would appreciate it!
I'm planning on trying to so the same once these headlights wear out. All I have done is ordered the weather boots for the back of the headlights that will need to be replaced with the new bulbs. I had HID 35w bulbs in the stock housings which put out pretty good light. This is good light with a crisp cut off like you would expect from a projector housing but is not as powerful as my HIDs I had. This may just be me not being used to the noticeable color tone change from 5k HID to stock halogens. I am going to switch out the stock halogen bulbs for LEDs and hope that gives me a good in between. No plans for a night drive right now as I don't have a camera that could accurately portray the light output. I might give it a shot though. Overall I am very happy with these version of the headlights I definitely am glad I set up the "C" lights to be on all the time as DRLs turned out well.
It is not a Denali bumper I too had the chrome bumper as I have an SLE. I took my front and rear bumpers to a powder coating place in my town and color matched it. Cost about $300. Great deal since I had painted it before and it chips a lot. The powder coat holds up way better.
So I got a hold of Spyder Auto again and they will be sending a replacement driver side headlight. I will replace and rewire the DRL and keep you posted. If they allow me to ill keep the old one and take it apart and try to repair it for any future issues.
Hi, thanks for sharing. I've been looking at these lights for my 2014 Sierra Denali HD. I currently have a set of the X-Tune Power and the projectors are horrible. I added a 35 watt HID kit with 5500k bulbs that made an improvement but still ain't the greatest. How is the light output on the Version 2 set that you have? I'm sure these are a significant improvement over the oem reflector housings. Will you be doing a night drive review? Thanks again. Scott
I was looking to get some aftermarket headlights for my 2012 Sierra. After having these for a while would u recommend ? Or should I expand my research? I think I saw spec d has some as well.
I cannot recommend them as I have had two driver side C lights go out. They might last longer as the ones from the same company on my other car are working just fine. It's a crap shoot but at around $275 they seem to be the best value.
Those are to power the C light. Either hook them up to a parking light wire like Spyder suggests or look at my other video on how to wire. Be warned they are know to stop working after about one year or less. If you still can maybe think about returning as Spyder won't do much about it.
Are these significantly brighter with the philips crystal vision than the stock headlights? I wanted HIDs but the only other headlights out there that are this style and HID compatible are the Recons which cost like 700 bucks.
Chris Maderos you might be able to find an HID bulb that fits but I haven't yet. The Philips Crystal Vision bulbs are pretty good better than halogen stock but not quite as good as hid. It's a good in between.
Chris Maderos not if you go with the Cryatalvision bulbs they are a stock bulb with a tint on them. So they fit perfectly in the stock housing. What you've probably been reading on is if you go with an HID or an LED bulb you have to either modify the stock boot on the backside of the housing or get a new one.
Thanks everyone for reporting on these light I really like them but here in Canada they are 600 plus dollars and obviously by all reports I've seen they are junk all of you complaining about c lights not working after 6 months or less and that's y I want them for the c lights thanks again for saving me 600 bucks Cheers from Canada. @Scott Roberts Thank you for the video I just installed the same headlights. I was curious of your opinion though, are they bright at night shining down the road for you? Mine aren't adjusted yet but I feel like the stock housings were brighter so far
Dylan Bendel adjusting the headlights really help. Mine were pretty far off. Also I switched the stock headlights that come with it to Phillips Crystal Vision bulbs. The stock bulbs have that stock yellow tint that is common in 3500k rated bulbs. The Phillips bulbs with the blue tint bring it to be more like that 5000k area color.

I saw you’re other video you said you removed fuse for day light running light. Will you’re lights turn on automatically when it gets dark without having that fuse on there?
alberto ortiz yes they will. I removed it because I wired the "C" as my daytime running light. Since I am switching to HIDs in the headlights I didn't want the DRL feature activated. This is because the stock DRL run at half power which would cause the HIDs to fault out.
Scott Roberts awesome! These are the answers I needed also to that wire fuses you added for the “C” light what size fuse you have there I will be doing the same set up tonight
alberto ortiz I used the add a fuse. Key to it is to use a lower rated fuse for the power line you're adding. So the stock fuse was a 10 amp so I got a 7.5 amp to run power to the "C".
sandkicker619 not sure what your saying but the way mine works is the headlights are off during the day because this fuses are removed. The C is on if the truck is on. Once daylight is gone or you manually turn the headlights on they workas usual.
I contacted Spyder about the no HID stamp and inquired about LEDs as well. The main reason they don't want you to according to tech support is because the waterproof boot that covers the bulb on the backside would have to be removed therefore reducing some of the water protection.
They are nice headlights and the only gripe I have with them is the burnt out C light. Seems like a crap shoot if it will fail so up to you. Other than that all other parts of the light work as they should and it looks great.

alberto ortiz yes they will.
The lights will not turn on unless you turn the auto lights on. When the auto lights are off just the C illuminates
sandkicker619 not sure what your saying but the way mine works is the headlights are off during the day because this fuses are removed. The C is on if the truck is on. Once daylight is gone or you manually turn the headlights on they workas usual.
Can led lights be installed in this housing?
Jason Patterson I've got a set of LEDs on the way so we shall see. I don't think there will be an issue though.
I have the same ones but chrome. Housing says don't install HIDs, but you can install LEDS I have leds on mine.
I contacted Spyder about the no HID stamp and inquired about LEDs as well. The main reason they don't want you to according to tech support is because the waterproof boot that covers the bulb on the backside would have to be removed therefore reducing some of the water protection.
Luis Salvidrez which brand of LEDs did you go with?
Scott Roberts I got the opt7 flux beam
I read your description but do you still not recommend these?
They are nice headlights and the only gripe I have with them is the burnt out C light. Seems like a crap shoot if it will fail so up to you. Other than that all other parts of the light work as they should and it looks great.
Now if you can only change the cab shape to look like the new generation GM.
Where can these purchased?
Maurizio Di Iorio I got mine off of ebay from a seller called DT Moto.
Thanks! Ill check it out
Great job sir
Your going 100mph!!
over priced junk!

Which are the high beams? Right or left?
OneTime 38 the square ones. non projector housing.
