Quality dude, real quality. You & Marty are my 1st point of call when it comes to the riffs man. I haven't picked up the guitar in a long long time & you & Marty have put the passion back into my playing, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Ian from Manchester England. Thanks for another fantastic lesson. I've tried private 1 to 1 lessons, trawled You Tube, read all the teaching books, My playing has improved more watching you than any of the others, don't tell "Marty" !!! you are the PAPA. Anything by Hendrix and his technique for future lesson, thanks again Ian
you are an amazing teacher, its like we are doing a 1 on 1 course with this, you break it down and make something hard so simple and easy, in other words. SUBSCRIBED!!!!
You're not fooling me Ben Stiller! ...all kidding aside, love your work on your RUclips channel. Got some pretty good tips from watching your breakdown of Hendrix, thanks!
Been playing voodoo child since the 1970's. Taught me a couple licks I've been missing. Excellent instruction vid. Best one I've seen of Voodoo Child. Don't need to say keep up the good work cause I'm sure you will. Is that an oxymoron? No matter good job.
Marty Schwartz lessons are great for the basics. Great fun teacher, kinda of like your kindergarden teacher. Sweet guy. Teach you the ABC's. Then you put in your time, get blisters on your fingers and want to learn to play with a little more "umpff". I finally found the University of Papastache! Ah yes! Thanks for the more advanced lessons.
Wow what a good lesson! The lollar's sound great! I've got to save short cut's to this and part 1 (cuz it's going to take me some time to memorize all the parts). I love how you point out the different pentatonic positions Hendrix used to play this song. Very well taught I really appreciate the effort to point out all the little intricacies and nuances! If there is better lessons then Papastache's I haven't seen them, I can't give enough of a compliment, but thanks. PS: I love your Nash "T"
papa, great lesson, one question, whats the path for your pedal set up? guitar-wa-,fuzz-,delay,-vibe? Just trying to figure it out, I saw your vid on setup but couldnt tell the path Thanks
Can't remember but a lot of the tone is the Divided by 13 JRT9/15. I probably had a boost going as well, either the Divided by 13 Lift or RC Booster, possibly a XTS Iridium fuzz.
If you have any tips on the solo, whee he goes into the fast hammer-on/pull-off on B 12-15-12 and onto 14 on G, and can share them, it would be awesome. I've only been trying to get my fingers up to speed for years, I'm guessing i'm having fret hand/pickhand issues; but man it's been brutal. Just doesn't sound right playing the solo without that section or at least not being decent up to speed.
The perfect lesson to seriously cover the song in the nature of how Jimi did it. Thanks!
Thanks Jim!
Your a natural born teacher, all i have is an acoustic, but i understood every note and now i can play voodoo child...finally...thanks.
Thank you! That's awesome! Way to go!
