I laughed so hard that I had to walk out of the room a few times because I thought I was going to puke my guts up and choke to death from laughing so hard! It was the most ridiculous, hilarious, unique and most bizarre comedy I had ever seen! I'll never forget that night for as long as I live! Rodney Rude is an absolute legend! 😂

My father was a radio personality for 7EX in Launceston Tasmania in the 80’s and interviewed Rodney. He didn’t stick to the script and had my old man on the floor in stitches. Funny as fuck, is this bloke
I knew Rude when he was touring as The Kangaroo in Canada in the mid-1970s. I still have an autographed album of live Kangaroo performances. He once told me confidentially -- that is, speaking to me one-to-one in the bar I worked as a teenager, but loud enough for everybody within earshot to hear -- "I am the most fucked-up guy you're ever gonna meet." Those exact words. He's right. He was. It was kind of sad. There was a sort of crazed unhappiness to him. Nice to see he pulled through and appears to have a good life. Though he did spawn a Canadian son who stayed behind in Canada.

Compact audio recording devices were still relatively rare and not of good quality. I'm not even sure there were fully portable video cameras then! But it would have been wonderful to catch those performances, when Rude was unleashed and unhappy and running amok. He was genuinely antic.

Australia is probably the closest thing to the South outside the States. Different accents, but same way of life and looking at things. Sydney and Atlanta are just 12 miles apart if you look at their lattitude. Weather pretty much the same.

When my friends and I McDonalds opened their first store here in Geelong (they took over the Hardees that had the best burgers) we noticed how the rubbish bins had 'Trash' written on them. We would loudly say things like 'don't forget to throw your rubbish in the trash' in faux American accents and laugh. When we went in a few weeks later they had changed them to say 'rubbish'.

After a long, hard, day, my mate got pissed off with the lousy service at a McDonald's - and boy did he let the store manager have it - just like Rodney here - but this was genuine!! He didn't hold back either!! For a couple of minutes he vented what he thought of McDonalds, their service and their food. We were crying with laughter when he ended on a crescendo with the all-encompassing sentiment: "AND YOU CAN ALL GO AND GET McFUCKED!!" and stomped out!! I'll never forget it, my only regret is that we didn't have a camera to capture the moment.

When my friends and I McDonalds opened their first store here in Geelong (they took over the Hardees that had the best burgers) we noticed how the rubbish bins had 'Trash' written on them. We would loudly say things like 'don't forget to throw your rubbish in the trash' in faux American accents and laugh. When we went in a few weeks later they had changed them to say 'rubbish'.

Not at all, if you want anyone fighting more for everyday Australian people she is it, she fights against the rubbish PC culture that would ban this type of comedy today, we need her. I'll bet RR would support her today.
Brilliant poet, comedian, story teller, compared to what's said today he was a primary or school teacher. Loved the 2 shows I went to.
After a long, hard, day, my mate got pissed off with the lousy service at a McDonald's - and boy did he let the store manager have it - just like Rodney here - but this was genuine!! He didn't hold back either!! For a couple of minutes he vented what he thought of McDonalds, their service and their food. We were crying with laughter when he ended on a crescendo with the all-encompassing sentiment: "AND YOU CAN ALL GO AND GET McFUCKED!!" and stomped out!! I'll never forget it, my only regret is that we didn't have a camera to capture the moment.
You may not have realised but this is a comedy skit. If you actually went to a McDonalds and abused the staff there you are just an asshole.
If he was still performing now he'd have a show called "Cancel Rude" and try and get cancelled by the Idiocracy that's cancel culture.
