Bring the Mother-In-Law back. I want to hear what she had to say about your sausage grinding. I think there were definitely some words of wisdom being passed on there. Thanks for the review. I plan to be getting my own Kitchen Aid and grinder to make my own smoked sausages.
I’m I the only person thinking his mom came out and was saying “ while you’re playing with your friend on the RUclips you need to be looking for a job so you can get out of my house… You’re a grown man now son” 😂😂😂😂
Lol 😂. Well, I do have my own house, married with children and a daughter in law. And my wife and I own our own business. However, my parent’s kitchen worked better for a video than ours did. Thankfully my parents support my RUclips hobby lol
Very nice and informative video. Loved your wife walking in at 2:14. She's like, "I have things to do", I don't know or care anything about this (U,Y or Z) tube crap-LOL Nice Vid!
I bought myself the kitchenaid brand grinder for our mixer and have yet to use it so I have no experience but would that not dull the blades over time?
@@TheGuerreros3 Even soft meat and other materials will dull all blades just like a kitchen knife. Sharpening is quick and easy. If you want to learn to cook then you have to take time and learn how to hone all of your cutlery. It will make you a better cook.
Very Cool, Jay. The grinder attachment looks very well built and worked well during your video. Excellent addition to one's KitchenAid mixer. I do remember my Mother using a grinding attachment for her KitchenAid Mixer, but she would always leave the attached bowl on for protection from the moving mixer parts. Saw your wife working behind you, but who was the walk-in that looked to be giving you helpful advice? Thank you, Jay, and take care!
i put my blade just like you did, and it locked in hard after grinding 1 pound of lean pork loin. i was able to wiggle it out somehow and noticed that it had rounded out the square part towards the auger side, or maybe it came that way. are you sure its suppose to go in that way?
If you want fine ground do you need to grind course 1st, then use the medium plate, then the fine plate? Or can you just grind with the fine plate from the start?
Nice video. I dropped my blade when swapping out coarse plates and wasn’t sure which way it goes back in, so I was hoping to actually see you swap that out.
Did you try the method of adding a hot dog bun when you’re done to help clean it out? I tried two pieces of bread. I personally think it was easier to just clean the chicken out by itself.
Best vid on using this grinder I've seen so far. But why not just start with the medium or fine grind plate in the first place? Also, I don't think you mentioned something important that's indicated on the outside of my Kenome box. It says they've upgraded the blade for better and faster food processing, and to remove the 4 blade cutter that comes installed and replace it with the 2 blade cutter in the tan envelope.
The Stainless Steel attachment is the best one to have. The Aluminum attachment is a waste of time for the price. Get the Stainless model for a few dollars more.
That burger probably had all the tenderness of a truck bumper. Ground three times and way too finely at that. You didn't bother chilling the meat or your grinder in between grinds so the fat likely smeared and became all stringy. You do not need to grind more than once. Use the middle grind size and run it through only once. Also, What was with the introduction of Cornholio at 6:41?
well, just a heads up. I have used a non-kitchen Aid attachment and they leak into the mixer. For me, after 2 days I noticed the smell which forced me to open the mixer and clean the inside.
i enjoyed seeing the lovely ladies come in and out of view, you made me feel even more confident in my purchase, looking forward to seeing more of your channel
My wife had a meat grinder attachment given to her for a kenwood chef but it didn't have the sausage attachments so I ordered 2 of the same make in your vid and I'm assuming the diameter of base of them is petty much standard for all
Thanks man! It was so easy! For my first time, I was a little skeptical at how well I could do it...but It was so easy that I am ready to grind some more! :)
Is the Food Strainer attachment for kitchenAid that is compatible with the plastic grinder, also compatitble with the Metal KA grinder? I hear different things..anyone know for sure?
I'm from Alabama, and that is 100% the correct pronunciation 😋 (edit: I find it hilarious that RUclips offers a "Translate to English" option for your comment) 🤣

this is 100% a rebranded product i have the same thing exactly except it is by "boypower". also the grinders main body isn't stainless steel it is cast aluminum, the rest however is stainless.
Is it actually safe to give raw meat through the fine grinding plate (3mm) at all? This one is needed to process cooked meat (for sausages etc.), isn't it? I just hope that working this way doesn't abuse your machine.
That's the first that I have heard of that. I really don't see how it would abuse this by using it with raw meat, especially after you have already ran it through the larger plates.
Aluminum is expensive but 10x cheaper then stainless. You maybe pushing 200$ on a full stainless steel part like this instead of 50-60$ then there are many grades what qualified as "stainless steel" many are bare bottom trash just for the label tag. If you don't know your steels and the manufacture won't tell you assume its trash
Also, different cuts of meats call for different settings. Not quite sure what for what. But I remember hearing tougher meats call for a different setting.

Great tip RE: running bread through the grinder to clean it! I'm going to try that today!
Make hamburgers using up that ground bread
Add to meatloaf!
Or doggo treats
The best demo yet. You completely demo how to assemble the grinder from unboxing to grinding
Thank you 🙏🏻

I have the plastic one from Kitchenaid and it actually works pretty awesome! I was shocked... Made some burgers for my parents while they were here!
That's awesome! Is it all plastic or are any of the interior parts metal?
That's awesome! Is it all plastic or are any of the interior parts metal?
Plastic housing and worm gear, the rest is metal.
my plastic one is oozing lubricant/machine grease at the grinder plate. i’m wondering if anyone knows a fix
They now offer an all metal grinder as well.
Thanks for the video, I'm grinding meat for the first time tomorrow and always like to see something done before I do it myself.
Also helps to keep the attachment as cold as you can👍 Bigger grinders have ice packs you can put around them .
when granny came in to give you the business, THAT'S when i hit subscribe!
ty for this ...I am new to my mixer and just bought that same grinder but mine also came with slicers too and cheese grating and such
FYI...no need to make passes from large to small. Just start with the plate sizes you want. Large gives you more chew than the finer plates.

Run the machine on highest setting so there`s less strain on the motor, that straining motor causes heat buildup.
I believe different meats call for different speed settings.

The Kitchen aide brand grinder has a plastic housing and you should run it on low speed as to not build to much pressure and bust the housing.
Pretty sure the higher the setting, the more strain would be put on motor.
