Have always loved this song!!! Havent heard this in ages. This is what country music "used to" be like. Wish country would go back to this kind of music. It was a lot better than what is out today. Thanks for posting this song!!
I do not think anyone today can sound or mesh together as well as these two, I just love crystals facial expressions and that insanely talented burst of emotion in her voice!
This song would be impossible to sing for most of the corporate country singers today. These two sing their asses off. They can really sing and they love to sing. They are not doing it just for the money or fame. Crystal Gayle has such a pretty voice.
if this song - music AND words - doesn't make your heart melt and your soul weep, you must not be alive...country music's finest hour was when music like this by artists like Crystal Gayle and Gary Morris were played on the radio...I know, because I was there doing it... ...listen to this song with the one you love. And then, play it again! and again!... You can thank me in the morning... be well, wayne elliot st. paul, mn
Love it! Love it! Love it! Some of my favorite memories growing up were of my family all gathered around the TV watching the country music award shows! It was such a big deal back then. There was no CMT, or GAC, you only had three channels to chose from, and if you were a country music fan you absolutely lived for these shows! My family would get so excited we'd all call each other just to make sure everyone knew when to watch. It's one of the reasons I wanted to grow up to b...e a country music artist. I found this gem on youtube, and it brought back so many memories! I actually never missed an awards show back then, and I remember watching this particular one when I was in high school! I think Gary Morris, and Crystal Gail's voices were so beautiful together I still get cold chills! They were both so young, and gorgeous! I just love the way they flirted with each other as they sang this song! So set back, close your eyes, and listen to what country music used to be like! Thanks so much for posting this!
One of my favorite albums I got the album in my 20s and still enjoy to listen to it till this day Two fantastic singers sing a fantastic love song 80s Forever
A #1 hit for Crystal Gayle & Gary Morris on the Country & Western charts. It was the 792nd #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. I have seen both in person. I saw Gary on February 21, 1987, at The Scope in Norfolk, VA. I saw Crystal on May 25, 1987 (Memorial Day), at the Busch Gardens Amusement Park in Williamsburg, VA. They both opened for The Charlie Daniels Band.
This song is still red hot after 36 yesrs. These people are a definite and perfect match for a duet. Crystal Gayle took a hold of my heart in early 1986. She still looks and sounds as beautiful and sweet and sexy as she has always been. She is really great. These two people are red hot. They are smoking hot as a duet. Their music will live on forever in my heart
@RexoAdAbsurdum I can't agree more, Gary is a freakin stud muffin. I never tire of listening to him. I wish someone would post a good version of Lasso you the Moon.
You were just a bit too proper with the song title. It's 'Makin' up for lost time'. No 'g', my friend. Anyway, Crystal and Gary hit #1 in Billboard, 2-15-86. God bless!
Back when pop artists had class, talent, and humility...
One of my favorite songs. My word, I had such a crush on her!! Just a boy and didn't know any better. Wow!! Thanks for the great memories.

This is what music and singing is all about, straight from the heart!!!

The Most Beautiful Couple in the Whole Wide World.❤
ACC's #16 song of '86. God bless you, Crystal and Gary! Thanx, 7590, for postin' it. Have a blessed week!
Their duet album still ranks as one of my all-time favorite albums. Their voices just blended so well together.
Ygritte is an American country music fan?! lol Sweet!
gatorhunter1 Well Gary Morris did have the Jon Snow hair going on back then. ;)
lollypop2414 Yes! And Crystal Gayle kinda reminds me of Melisandre. That hair...

christo1 I always thought this would be great if revived by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill...but I’m not sure Faith has the range to do that high harmony.
