If you see this clip and think: "Oh my god, how stupid is this women?" I am afraid it gets a whole lot worse in the actual episode. Seriously, you really start rooting for the slugs/mantraps.

There’s more to it than that. The people of Finetime are racist because they’re trapped in their echo chamber with no outside influences. There were plenty of subtle hints throughout like how much ruder Lindy was with the Doctor than with Ruby and how everyone in Finetime is white
If I were the Doctor, I would’ve said the hell with this civilization and fed them all to the crows. That was such a POS society, especially that character Lindy. She was voted number one for one of the worst Doctor Who characters.
