I'm in central NC zone 8a and normally the black eyed susans I have scattered around do well all summer but this year.....not so much. They struggled through the early summer heatwave (high 90's) and even after all the rain we've gotten this month they're just done! I'm deadheading now (Aug 18) and can't tell if the seeds are viable. But I'm sure the roots are fine and am looking forward to next year :)

I'm sorry to hear about this. Perhaps they have a pathogen? It's hard to say over a RUclips comment.
