    Greatest practical shooting tutorial I've seen. LOVE your blog, please keep them coming.

      Thanks for that Rob. Next episode I actually reach and maintain true 3/4 MOA accuracy and the bullets hit approximately one bullet diameter away from target center. I am hoping to do two or three more tuition episodes before this seasons hunting starts.

      BTW, is that coyotes I see in your profile picture? Must be very exiting animals to call.

      Yes it is! My winter recreation. If you ever make it to Maine let me know and we will go on a hunt! Most people don't like sitting out in the cold, but for you I think It will be a tropical vacation.

      I think my only regret is not doing enough winter hunting. It is just nice to be out in the snow.

    Good examples demonstrated. Your target tool is all I use when I shoot. Its the feedback I look for. Sadly never hit all my targets on the 1.5 MOA targets yet.

      Thanks, glad you liked it. Next episode I bring the accuracy in line with the precision. Will hopefulle have 2-3 more tution films out this season.

      Thanks for that. Just finished filming a class where we do rifle fitting and everything. When that is done it should provide some pointers as well.

    when you fire a shot where does your scope cross hair end up pointing? I was noticing with my shooting today my cross hair would end up high and left. my position is straight behind the rifle.

    • @THLR
      @THLR  7 лет назад

      Quite often high and left. Not sure how to fix that yet.

    Hej Thomas.
    Thanks for a fantastic blog and an excellent chinrest. I've been looking for "the shooter error test" .pdf file you are showing in this blog on your website. But I can find it. Is it me or??
    Best regards
    Thomas Andersen

      Thanks for that Thomas. It appears Vertebrae has changed their website. You can find the target here vertebrae.biz/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Calling-shots-shooter-error-target.pdf or here thlr.no/download

    I have a problem to realize how looks to you the scope reticle. I must see the vignette or no shadow around the circle of the reticle at all?

    • @THLR
      @THLR  8 лет назад

      No shadow in the scope reticle. If you are troubled with shadows, move the scope in the mounts.

    You have a "Sako TRG Group" morale patch. How can I get my hands on one? I have two TRG's (TRG42 and TRG22, and am waiting to add the TRG M10 to my collection too).

    As always, thanks for sharing these beautiful footages! There must be a lot of hard work behind these, so thank you. Btw do you have to get a ferry to go to the shooting range? I reckon that in those places it's the equivalent of getting the bus :)

    • @THLR
      @THLR  8 лет назад +1

      Yes you're quite right, the fiords and mountains break the norwegian coastline so much it's either bridges, tunnels or ferries to get anywhere.

    Try not to rest your thumb on the rifle. Let your thumb rest on your trigger finger. It will also have your fingers closer to cycle the action. Just try it it might help.

    • @THLR
      @THLR  8 лет назад

      Sorry, unable to do that with my injuries.

    with Schmidt & Bender your shots were more accurate ! why you changed it for minox?
    is minox better?

    • @mavainfigatomareva
      @mavainfigatomareva 8 лет назад

      they are so close that you won't even notice, unless one scope is defective.

    • @THLR
      @THLR  8 лет назад +1

      I am using Minox because 1) they put my reticle in the scope 2) they are cheaper 3) they provide me with the same performance as they are well above my "good enough" threshold.

    Great video and excellent shooting ! Shouldn't the best position be the most relaxed of all parts of your body ? So there is no muscle tension in your neck, back, arms and hands - to eliminate any pressures on the rifle to alter the rifles position when you break the shot. Example of this is to have as little hand contact with the rifles grip as possible, except for trigger finger straight back pressure on trigger only ...

    • @THLR
      @THLR  8 лет назад +1

      The firing shoulder needs to be relaxed, even the smallest change in pressure here will result in a changed POI. This can be a little difficult as a natural reaction to excitement is to pull them up a little and prepare for the fight. At the same time the rifle butt should be as firm as possible in the shoulder and as close as possible to the middle of the body, and this requires a constant and relaxed position of the upper arm. The trigger hand should hold the rifle properly, but with equal force from all sides so the rifle is not moved off its axis when the shot is fired. In order to achieve this equilibrium of opposing forces, your body needs to be relaxed as not to bring muscle tremor into the shooting. An adjustable rifle is beneficial for this fitting, but I'm not shooting at a level where I need this.

      Haha, the glasses was a hard blow to my persona and I was no longer able to live in denial. Hate'em, they provide sharp sight but the glasses actually degrade my resolution. Will try contacts next.

    • @DFOOSKING
      @DFOOSKING 8 лет назад

      I went contacts in my early 20's.... wish I had went sooner. I know a few who've gone under the knife and got corrective surgery. I will have to wait till my stripping career picks up.

    • @DFOOSKING
      @DFOOSKING 8 лет назад

      wait till you have to deal with them fogging up in the cold or feeling heavy in the heat. Contacts the only way to go.

      Good to know, I have an appointment with the optician tomorrow. Laser surgery is an option, but I haven't really looked into it and how long it lasts. I'm only +0.5 on the correction and so far I've just hunted without glasses, but it gets too wearisome now.
