  • Starting with a beautiful morning at the Sarasota Mooring field, today we are exploring the beautiful West Coast of Florida. This region of the state is gorgeous with the clear emerald water, dolphins, interesting architecture, and dreamy beaches, and we finally have 24 hours to experience it non-stop.
    Thanks for watching!

    ABOUT US
    Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
    The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
    Thank you for following us along our journey!

    Hi Guys, I’ve been watching your adventure since Mobile, knowing you’d eventually pass my bridge. I’m a Bridge Tender on the Manasota Bridge on Manasota Beach Road, just north of the Tom Adams, where you stopped. Since you were able to get under most of the bridges along the Gulf Intracoastal, you probably slipped by without our notice. If I was on duty, sorry to miss you. Anyway, congrats on nearing completion of a great adventure. I see many boats flying the looper flag, and wish I could have done it when I was younger! Be safe out there!

    I used to be involved in phosphate mining in Florida. Smaller sharks teeth were in every handful you could pull off the conveyor belt after the refining process. Teeth up to 3” across were less plentiful but we encased them in plastic and gave them away as paperweights to customers.

    That part of Florida is so beautiful. I spent a lot of time there as a child. My mom's parents bought a house in Venice after they had retired from their jobs in our hometown in Ohio back in 1970. I love Venice and the other small towns in that area along with Sarasota. St. Armin's Circle is a gorgeous shopping district. Longboat and Siesta Keys are both lovely and so is Santa Maria Island. I don't get down that way as much as I'd like to but unless you plan going that distance from where you live and you get busy with life, you tend to stay close to the area that you live. I've just moved again to Clermont in the past few days and I'm busy with unpacking boxes and starting daily radiation treatments this month, so I'm not doing any traveling presently. It is great to see you do these videos of places that I have lived and I have fond memories of. I am hoping that I get my health back and I can start to move towards doing my own Loop trip or at least maybe not doing an entire Loop trip in one piece but traiiler a boat to some sections of the Loop and exploring those areas as separate trips. I wonder if I can still join AGLCA if I just do it that way and join up with Lopoers as they make their way through those areas? I think I'm going to get a Ranger Tug R-27. A few years ago, a lady did the entire Loop solo in an R-23 and she did fine with it..

      @SchoandJo  5 месяцев назад

      You can definitely loop in a R-Tug, they are fantastic Loop boats. Manageable, quick, enough space... they check all the boxes. Hope the continued radiation treatments go well 🙏🙏🙏

    We’ve been following you guys from the start. We think you guys are amazing for your consistency and determination, and we know of few other RUclips loopers who have produced a complete package of videos documenting your trip.
    Did you do the drone footage in this video?

    From Wisconsin but was just in Sarasota three weeks ago on vacation for a week and was wondering how far you two were, turns out, we might have actually been there at the same time. The place is crazy and easily has enough stuff to do for a few days or week (if you have the money as it is definitely pricey). Feels weird seeing it again so soon after I was there on RUclips.

    The boart you linger on at 1:10 is the exact boat I just bought to spend summers on the great lakes. Your series has def been a factor in getting back in to boat life (grew up boating the Great Lakes) buying my first boat and possibly doing The Loop in a few years. CHeers to seeing you all finish even though I already saw you finish on the AGLCA FB page lol

    • @SchoandJo

      We don't ever go through Haulover, we'll leave that to the smaller boats :) But we have cruised by it a few times!

    • @michaelgarrity6090
      @michaelgarrity6090 6 месяцев назад

      @@SchoandJoOn all those videos that several people make about Haulover, lots of big monster boats go in and out of the inlet, especially the monster "Battlewagon" fishing boats. I know I'd not want to go in and out of Haulover, better to go out Government Cut or one of the bigger inlets north of Haulover that don't have those nasty swells that form up there with regularity.

Florida is the most un dog friendly place on planet earth ! its the one thing i really hate about Florida ! but i think its mostly yankee transplants making these rules
