- Starting with a beautiful morning at the Sarasota Mooring field, today we are exploring the beautiful West Coast of Florida. This region of the state is gorgeous with the clear emerald water, dolphins, interesting architecture, and dreamy beaches, and we finally have 24 hours to experience it non-stop.
Thanks for watching!
Cheers from the Loop,

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

Thank you for watching! This video was filmed on February 1st, 2023.
Hi Guys, I’ve been watching your adventure since Mobile, knowing you’d eventually pass my bridge. I’m a Bridge Tender on the Manasota Bridge on Manasota Beach Road, just north of the Tom Adams, where you stopped. Since you were able to get under most of the bridges along the Gulf Intracoastal, you probably slipped by without our notice. If I was on duty, sorry to miss you. Anyway, congrats on nearing completion of a great adventure. I see many boats flying the looper flag, and wish I could have done it when I was younger! Be safe out there!
Hope in
Ahh, most likely we just slipped past! Thanks so much, Bill!
LOVED the Drone footage in Sarasota and throughout the video. Beautiful scenery. Great job♥️♥️♥️
❤️❤️❤️
Elliot you look great in the aviators. Biden, Junior.! Jennifer I would’ve been great to be with you, imitating the statue and Sarasota. But aw well you have a significant other already. Love you two!
I used to be involved in phosphate mining in Florida. Smaller sharks teeth were in every handful you could pull off the conveyor belt after the refining process. Teeth up to 3” across were less plentiful but we encased them in plastic and gave them away as paperweights to customers.
That's super neat!
That part of Florida is so beautiful. I spent a lot of time there as a child. My mom's parents bought a house in Venice after they had retired from their jobs in our hometown in Ohio back in 1970. I love Venice and the other small towns in that area along with Sarasota. St. Armin's Circle is a gorgeous shopping district. Longboat and Siesta Keys are both lovely and so is Santa Maria Island. I don't get down that way as much as I'd like to but unless you plan going that distance from where you live and you get busy with life, you tend to stay close to the area that you live. I've just moved again to Clermont in the past few days and I'm busy with unpacking boxes and starting daily radiation treatments this month, so I'm not doing any traveling presently. It is great to see you do these videos of places that I have lived and I have fond memories of. I am hoping that I get my health back and I can start to move towards doing my own Loop trip or at least maybe not doing an entire Loop trip in one piece but traiiler a boat to some sections of the Loop and exploring those areas as separate trips. I wonder if I can still join AGLCA if I just do it that way and join up with Lopoers as they make their way through those areas? I think I'm going to get a Ranger Tug R-27. A few years ago, a lady did the entire Loop solo in an R-23 and she did fine with it..
You can definitely loop in a R-Tug, they are fantastic Loop boats. Manageable, quick, enough space... they check all the boxes. Hope the continued radiation treatments go well 🙏🙏🙏
Yes it it the most beautiful part of the coast is south of Sarasota
We’ve been following you guys from the start. We think you guys are amazing for your consistency and determination, and we know of few other RUclips loopers who have produced a complete package of videos documenting your trip.
Did you do the drone footage in this video?
Before we moved, we would walk across the Blackburn bridge every day. We really miss that part of Florida.
It really is a beautiful area of Florida. Thanks for watching 🙏
I have to say I'm a little sad that the loop is coming to an end. I've so looked forward to the videos. Buttttttt. I'm sure there will be a new adventure coming. It's been a great trip for me. thanks,,,,,,,,,,
Thanks for following along!
Another awesome video.. A beautiful cruise 🛳..
Thanks, Karen!
From Wisconsin but was just in Sarasota three weeks ago on vacation for a week and was wondering how far you two were, turns out, we might have actually been there at the same time. The place is crazy and easily has enough stuff to do for a few days or week (if you have the money as it is definitely pricey). Feels weird seeing it again so soon after I was there on RUclips.
You guys are awesome 😎
I'm slowly catching up, I'm at episode 230. Enjoying them all even though I'm landlocked in The Villages, FL.
Thanks for watching Rodney 😁
That is a beautiful coast
💯 agree!
Love Marina Jack's! Love the drone footage.
Thanks!
The boart you linger on at 1:10 is the exact boat I just bought to spend summers on the great lakes. Your series has def been a factor in getting back in to boat life (grew up boating the Great Lakes) buying my first boat and possibly doing The Loop in a few years. CHeers to seeing you all finish even though I already saw you finish on the AGLCA FB page lol
Oh that's cool! That's probably an amazing boat for the Great Lakes, lots of room!
excellent if I ever want to loop as well but yes perfect for the GL@@SchoandJo
Totally!@@Drewniversal
I know this video is from last year, but if you ever get a chance to go back to Sarasota, make sure you explore St Armands circle. Have lunch or dinner at the Columbia Restaurant for great Cubsn food.
Thanks for the recommendation, Fred. I'm sure we'll be in the area again!
So sorry Ollie wasn’t able to go to state park 😒… but beautiful video🦋👍❤️
Thanks, Jamie!
Sarasota looked nice…I love main streets! Your reenactment of the sailor and the nurse was great! The drone shots were beautiful and that sunset! So close to being done with the loop!
Thanks so much, Suzanne ❤️
I am getting the shakes. I am starting to go through withdraw. Looking for your next video, hurry!
Haha, sorry about that :) New video is live!
The quote you say frequently “Ain't nothin' to it, but to do it” is credited to the American writer, poet, and civil rights activist Maya Angelou
I did not know that, thanks, Chris!
You were in our area Charlotte County!
Terrific cruising day, enjoyed the video.
Thanks, John!
Venice has a real nice dog beach just south of Sharkies restaurant. Off of the Venice airport.
Thanks for the recommendation!
When do we get to see Pivot traverse Haulover Inlet? Hope you are still enjoying the boating life.
We don't ever go through Haulover, we'll leave that to the smaller boats :) But we have cruised by it a few times!
@@SchoandJoOn all those videos that several people make about Haulover, lots of big monster boats go in and out of the inlet, especially the monster "Battlewagon" fishing boats. I know I'd not want to go in and out of Haulover, better to go out Government Cut or one of the bigger inlets north of Haulover that don't have those nasty swells that form up there with regularity.
She wasn’t a nurse. She was a dental hygienist!
I just curious this guy played a cop on Wild Hogs the movie are you related
Haha, nope!
Those don't look like McMansions to me? Seems like they are each unique custom built homes.
I guess we don't differentiate those two. Nothing against McMansions - they can be unique and custom 😁
Your in my stomping grounds these last cpl videos I know all the areas .. and I love it there but unfortunately as a dog lover who takes his dog boating every time .. Florida is the most un dog friendly place on planet earth ! its the one thing i really hate about Florida ! but i think its mostly yankee transplants making these rules
Hello Pivot from Ontario, we met you in Orillia Ontario, when you passed through
we have watched your entire journey and so excited you’ve made that far… CONGRATS
We spent some time in Florida in Englewood and Charolette stump pass area and I created a video and inspired me to create a RUclips channel so feel free to watch it there Derailedintoboating. We are in the midst of starting our plans to follow in your steps and create our own journey. Bittersweet but looking forward to you guys crossing your wake!
Hi y'all! Wow, looks like you had some incredible weather for your trip. Great luck kicking off your journey, you won't regret it 😁
