It is true that the USA was defeated in Vietnam and in Afghanistan, despite the attempted coups d'état that have been or are being attempted, they are now collecting the very poor consideration that they have in the majority of the countries in the world, unless one considers the world only as the USA and its European servants.Or do you consider justice the massacre of the Iraqi people, the bombings on Libya, Syria, Serbia, the massacres of the Chilean people directed by the CIA, the massacre of the Palestinians being carried out by Israel supported by the West?

No mention of confiscation of Russia's reserves of 300 billion USD of which 180 billion is in Belgium. These funds can be used to support Ukraine's military and indeed rebuilding. A good part of the funds should make their way into the US's military complex and good reason for them to pressure Trump. Legal scruples? Make new law to protect the society of nations.'

So the short answer is European leaders have and continue to fail to grasp the reality that they need to be self sufficient enough to defend themselves alongside the US but if needed too also by themselves. We are defence partners not the sole defender of the western sphere. Look to Poland and Scandinavia if you need an example.
