#1 was making absolutely incredible plays to set his team up. Guy fake out for a good chunk to give enough room for the back to make plays, blocked like half the team by himself and made the most crucial blocks at the end. Absolutely insane will and dedication.

Now imagine if you actively trained your guys to be proficient in lateral passing plays 🤔 to the point where failure is rare and they are regularly able to drag the defence into extended periods of active play and tire them out, or waste clock time etc.

I even played football in High School and I ran Track as well I even have a bronze for state in quarter mile relay when I was in middle school but my parents divorce pretty much ruined the rest of my school years after that. But I just don't have the ability to sit on my couch and watch... even with family... I will just pass out and fall asleep. I do admit... it is much more fun to watch games in the stadium but even then... I still have very little desire to go and deal with the crowds. The real answer is if you throw a backwards pass and its dropped its now a fumble instead of an incomplete pass and the other team can pick it up and take possession so thats why its only used whenever the game is over and you have nothing to lose
@@Colbsack ball dropped at the beginning of the clip why isn't it a fumble? There are couple of extra rules in rugby that encourage the game to play this style more. First of all is defensive line, second is that defensive player may not deliberately knock the ball that is being passed.

Getting tackled isnt necessarily bad you just have to gain 10 yards in 4 plays. In rugby if you get tackled you have a chance of losing the ball (from my limited rugby knowledge) different games with different rules for different people

It was crazy in the moment but it took me out of it when I watched a breakdown of the play. 3 different ball carriers were downed before they got the next pass off, and at least one of the passes was a forward lateral.
Not a single one of those was forward and I only saw one player come close to getting downed before getting the ball off. Not sure where you got 3. And they didnt call it on the field so it would have been nearly impossible to overturn given how close it was.
I dont know about 10, but one guy was down with the ball and a couple clear blocks in the back. Most of the rest visible in this play looks pretty good, by the rules at the time.
"Can you believe what you just saw?" Some of the worst refereeing to ever happen. Blocks in the back and #1 was definitely down at 21 seconds in this clip with the ball still in his hands. I also remember the controversy surrounding this because it was so clearly miscalled at the time and the league apologized but they didn't overturn the win which is utter BS. Duke got screwed.

It was crazy in the moment but it took me out of it when I watched a breakdown of the play. 3 different ball carriers were downed before they got the next pass off, and at least one of the passes was a forward lateral.
Not a single one of those was forward and I only saw one player come close to getting downed before getting the ball off. Not sure where you got 3. And they didnt call it on the field so it would have been nearly impossible to overturn given how close it was.

The ACC admitted there were like 10 plus missed calls on this play. Not a good look/not a good play.
I dont know about 10, but one guy was down with the ball and a couple clear blocks in the back. Most of the rest visible in this play looks pretty good, by the rules at the time.

"Can you believe what you just saw?" Some of the worst refereeing to ever happen. Blocks in the back and #1 was definitely down at 21 seconds in this clip with the ball still in his hands. I also remember the controversy surrounding this because it was so clearly miscalled at the time and the league apologized but they didn't overturn the win which is utter BS. Duke got screwed.
