Y’all should definitely check out the song Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold off of the same album. It’s basically their masterpiece. That and A little piece of heaven
Rev completed this album. Rev wrote the music for this whole album and the lyrics a lot of the lyrics anyway. The REV is ALL OVER his finale and for that, I thank him. Jimmy finished the album himself, handed over the guys and said this album is done. Went home, made himself a Brompton Cocktail and left us all wanting more.
@@raymckean1035 Portnoy only did the final recordings on a real drum kit. Aside from adding slight Portnoy-brand touches, he played exactly what Jimmy had recorded on an electric drum kit in the demos.
Before the shift when they play this live, they get the crowd chanting a loud HEY through the shift into the heavy and the stage lights up with fire/flames and that included their deathbat too I had the honor to see them after the Rev passed on the Nightmare tour with Mike Portnoy filling in and it was 🔥🔥 #RIPREV foREVer
I saw them right around that same time with portnoy too, honestly I think that was their peak as a live band, shadows voice was the best it ever was right during that time period and everyone else’s playing was as good as it had ever been
I got to see them on that tour too! They had Three Days Grace open for them! That was my first time seeing them live, I ended up seeing them again on the Welcome to the Family tour, and the Hail to the King tour. They are just amazing live. The first time I had actually heard Buried Alive it was live just like you said, holy shit was that an experience.
My dudes this song goes SO HARD live - it's absolutely insane to be in the crowd changing along with this and singing along with the solos, and my god the second half of it goes so fucking hard
I'm really happy every time you make A7X. it's been my favorite band for years and I never get tired of listening to them every day. I love your criticisms and seeing you listen to them because often they are badly criticized and have many people who hate them and yet they are so full of talent that I could never understand this hatred. Thank you again and can't wait for a next song.
I absolutely love these guys and all their music! I wake up listening to them and fall asleep listening to them. I think that you might have them confused with Nickelback about the haters! LOL 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
Easily my fav A7X song. It’s such a beautiful masterpiece that hits a sick breakdown and finishes with insanity. The melodies and harmonies, the solo from Syn, the the shift to the intense riff and breakdown, the sick vocals, and the rapid fire riff to end the song. This is perfection imo.
This ones my favorite one too. Its beautiful and peaceful in the beginning and verses, then the chorus and ending is heavy and awesome. And ofc great vocals, great riffage and solos, and great drums. I love everything about this song.
M shadows has an amazing voice and an amazing scream. Synester gates plays that guitar so smoothly and effortlessly and it’s like the guitar is just singing. This is one ☝️ f my favorite songs from them. Love it!
The Rev wrote for every song on this album but passed away before he could record them. The band got one of the Rev’s personal heroes, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater to record all the parts the Rev had written.
all the songs on the nightmare album already have demos that the rev wrote, but he went ahead, and i'm just letting you know that all the songs on this album were assisted and completed by one of the rev's favorite drummers, mike Portnoy
Great reaction guys, Avenged sevenfold is my favorite band, I recommend 5 songs from them: Danger Line carry on save me Natural Born Killer Critical Acclaim (Live In LBC)
Honestly the first time I've heard it I immediately thought it is one of the best rock songs I've heard in my life. With that roller coaster ride at the end. Fabulous! I keep listening to it and never get tired of it.
I heard this song live for my first listen. They started out slow with blue lights and the melodic singing. Then they shift to purple lights as Syn starts shredding right before the shift. Then the shift happens and they blast the pyrotechnics and all the lights turn red and orange and the crowd was going fucking nuts. Damn, that was an experience. It Made the song an instant top 10 A7x song to me.
@lilahki I just saw them perform it live again, and it was still amazing. There were no pyrotechnics this time, but the big screen had a sick overlay on their live performance, which was often mesmerizing.
Wakerman was not the drummer on this album. It's was Mike portnoy from dream theater. He was one of the revs favourite drummers so they asked him if he would do it and he accepted. The rev wrote the drums mike just recorded then for the album.
Happy birthday Ryan! I love this song so much, thanks for your awesome reaction to it - it's so fun to see you guys enjoying the songs. I hope you do Save Me by them from this album sometime soon! :)
Hello from the 502 and Happy Birthday to Ryan! This is my favorite song from A7X and Mike Portnoy filled in on the drums for this whole album cuz he was the Rev's favorite drummer.
That's what I thought too when the second half dropped I thought of Metallica and the reason for that is because Metallica is one of their influences/inspiration
I love this song! They said themselves this is basically their Stairway To Heaven. To me it’s moor like Bohemian Rhapsody because it sounds like 3 songs in one.
Mike Portnoy played drums on the album. That being said, check out some of Mike Portnoy's other bands -- Dream Theater, Neal Morse Band, Transatlantic, Flying Colors, Winery Dogs, Adrenaline Mob, Sons Of Apollo.
Guys you NEED to react to their bohemian rhapsody “A Little Peace of Heaven” it was written by the Rev and it’s a masterpiece voted by the fans to always be played at their concerts. Also Critical Acclaim. As for the Stage album, you have to react to Exist. It’s actually the history of existence translated into music. From nothingness to current day. It’s their most epic piece. Last but not least Acid Rain also from the Stage album has Synyster Gates most beautiful solo. Love your reactions!
Just found you guys off of your The Stage video, was about to comment you to react to this and then saw you already did it and I am SO happy. So fun seeing you guys headbang along to that change. Keep it up guys
I KNEW you guys would love this. This might actually be the best A7X song ever. It's fucking amazing. You guys might like their power ballad "Seize The Day." 🤘🏻🐻🤘🏻
@@ViewsFromThe502 Definitely listen again with explicit lyrics Lol I know a song doesn't need cursing but it's just one word and when it belongs it belongs
Definitely my favorite A7X song. Very underrated. One of the few songs where I recommend the live version as well. Studio version is still better but the song is great live.
For more A7x, since you liked The Stage, you should check out God Damn from the same album. For that joke at the end about Jekyll and Hyde, 5FDP did a song called Jekyll and Hyde that smacks
This is probably my second favorite A7x song. Maybe. Because damn! It’s just so hard to choose. I lovelovelove the bluesy opening, the chunky, girthy ending, and everything in between. Also, I agree with other commenters, y’all MUST do A Little Piece of Heaven (official video!!!) next Halloween. It is the perfect one.
This song...Glad you finally listened to it. One of my favs from them. Want to ear an awesome chorus? try this ------ "Avenged Sevenfold - Girl I Know" my favorite chorus from them. Also "Not Ready To Die" it´s one of my favorite songs from them. Congrats always love your reactions guys. keep that awesome and funny vibe!
Yall should do so far away from avenged sevenfold it's their tribute to the Rev this song actually touched me and you can see how heart felt they are. RIP Rev
The physical pain I felt when they paused the song right before the switch up
Same lol but his reaction was priceless
😂
Y’all should definitely check out the song Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold off of the same album. It’s basically their masterpiece. That and A little piece of heaven
100%.. one of (if not) their best song!!
Save Me is their Magnum Opus
Definitely their peak masterpiece, that song is godly, I wish more reactors did it.
I think "Save Me" is A7X's best song also.
They need to listen to Save Me for sure!
That breakdown after the solo is just pure sex

According to the band, a little over 60% was written by him. Pretty big exaggeration, but much of it was, yes.
Mike portnoy played drums in this album.

EXIST !!!!!!! their best achievement
Save me, Critical Acclaim, Acid Rain, Almost Easy, Coming Home, So Far Away, Exist. Trust.

The looks on their faces when the music shifts....PRICELESS!!!

Save me beats The Stage all day long
The rev wrote all the drum parts and Mike Portnoy recorded and toured on the nightmare album
A little piece of heaven and exist are a MUST. Their music takes me to my happy place.

A little piece of heaven by avenged sevenfold
Hello from the 502 and Happy Birthday to Ryan! This is my favorite song from A7X and Mike Portnoy filled in on the drums for this whole album cuz he was the Rev's favorite drummer.
Also check out "Buried Alive" live at Rock in Rio 2013 the stage effects really compliment the song very well in that performance.
That's what I thought too when the second half dropped I thought of Metallica and the reason for that is because Metallica is one of their influences/inspiration
U guys are bobbing ur heads before the very best part comes in...speaks volumes ab this track.....love it
I love this song! They said themselves this is basically their Stairway To Heaven. To me it’s moor like Bohemian Rhapsody because it sounds like 3 songs in one.
Think it's just straight up one by Metallica. Mainly follows the same formula it does
Their Bohemian Rhapsody is A Little Piece of Heaven. This is the Stairway👍🏻
502 is my old stomping grounds! Southwest end of town. Yalls' some real ones!! New subscriber!
portnoy was the session drummer, jimmy wrote most of the songs and has vocals in fiction. he also sang in some demos
he wrote most of nightmare album, yes
@@seraex8209 most of the drums not most of the album in general, fiction is pretty much all him tho
A little piece of heaven from avenged sevenfold is a must Halloween song! Lol
I will NEVER complain about running back a Synyster Gates solo! Great job guys!
That last crazy guitar solo, reminded me of Seek and Destroy, but on steroids, best guitar work I've heard in a long time
Avenged Sevenfold - Save Me from the same album is great too!
Yea I always compare this song to “One” it’s structured basically exactly the same
Mike Portnoy played drums on the album. That being said, check out some of Mike Portnoy's other bands -- Dream Theater, Neal Morse Band, Transatlantic, Flying Colors, Winery Dogs, Adrenaline Mob, Sons Of Apollo.
