Gray Zone Warfare - A Diamond in the Rough
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 май 2024
- Gray Zone Warfare is a freshly released early access title that adds much needed competition to the Extraction Shooter genre. While different from its peers in many respects, it is also similar enough to where good development decisions could likely capitalize on the stagnation of an entire genre in a very compelling way.
Performance issues and other conceptual choices may be rough, and completely unpolished, but the level of potential here is amazing.

I just came here to say that there would be another player joining in the shooter-extraction genre. Arena Breakout:Infinite. Though it's still in the early process of giving out CBT (official test would be out this May, I heard), but hopefully you get to review it too, once it's out or if you decide to join the CBT. I'm not affiliated with them or anything, just an avid fan. They started as a mobile game with the same tag (Arena Breakout) and started to enter the PC platform just this year.
Tarkov player here. I love Gray Zone and plan on staying on board until it's fully fleshed out. It's janky, it's buggy and is limited currently. But by this time next year I really believe this will have garnered much more attention. o7
I thought it was funny seeing other Tarkov players say this game sucks because the early access is janky like we forgot about early Tarkov alpha
@@TinnWardlmaoo pre inertia Tarkov 😂
And so the early access pain wheel rolls forward
NO! You have to fight for Tarkov! jk. Good on your for sticking to your guns.
Helldivers dive together or we don't dive at all.
Hasnt learned from Tarkov lol
Just fyi bullets interact with everything. So in the jungle watch the plants . You can tell the direction and general location of enemy by the bullets coming through the jungle towards you
I saw the dummy balistic gel video and its crazy
The enemy kills you so comically fast and even at massive range that if you hear or see bullet effects you are already dead.
@@AdamSchadow sounds like a skill issue . I wreck this game
@@DummyThinksThoughts Sounds like brain damage if you think skill changes how fast guns kill.
@@AdamSchadow look, you obviously are finding this game difficult . but this game is pretty easy, the Ai is really dumb at the moment. if you are getting wrecked constantly you really are doing something wrong.
this game has dmg to organs and it also has pass through shots. what that means is sure you have a chance to take a keyhole shot to the brain or heart. pretty much the rest of your body is not a instantly fatal hit.. I have been keyholed in the eye a few times , but i have literally stacked npc's like sandbags between that happening.
work on how you approach and use cover and your reaction time , it is a skill issue if you die constantly . I have had fights with npc's where I was caught out and took 6 plus hits and walked didn't die . all passthrough hits where I just needed gause and bandages . some shots if you are using proper armor only cause bruises they don't even hurt you past knocking the wind out of your character.
Hunt: Showdown has been around for quite a while and is a good example of an extraction shooter done very well.
It’s honestly is it’s own type of extraction shooter with a central point of interest and a victory condition, tarkov and most extraction shooters are more sandbox and missions are individualistic
I can't disagree with that.@@raptonsoul2557
@@raptonsoul2557 yeah, even though it shares the general genre-type. gameplay-wise, aesthetic-wise and so on it feels completely different.
i LOVE hunt and it's my main game but i personally want a more chill sandbox experience on the side; dmz was close to being it but activision fumbled the ball and battlestate is a slimeball publisher so nothing's really been it yet, grey zone might just be what i'm looking for
It was one of my favorites, but the battlepasses and seasons they do are so grindy it killed my enjoyment of the game. I'll still play it between seasons, but I wish they hadn't gotten so aggressive with the monetization.
As someone who hates tarkov when you run out of basically everything… nobody is talking about how you can have that happen to you in PvP, but then you can go play PvE and actually BUILD back to a functional PvP state. Its like scav running without worrying about enemy players. Its great.
This is going to tickle the ARMA folk like Tarkov never did.
It quite literally is Arma III Tanoa with Tarkov Extraction gameplay loop, sprinkled with some STALKER like lore
@@SteelxWolf Figuratively, but yes, I'm definitely keeping an eye on this project.
@@AsheramK oh yeah. As soon as it gets more optimized and I can upgrade hardware, ill be playing it a lot more
As a DayZ veteran, raiding the airstrip gave me NW Airfield vibes and it was fun.
It's like this game is a mix of Tarkov, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and DayZ
The bunkers from DayZ was a special nostalgic touch the first time I went there I get ya totally on that. Glad someone else noticed it
@@EthCirah dude raiding the NW Airfield at night always made some great memories lol. I wonder if this game will ever get a night cycle and NVGs. Tho maybe that's a bit much for people
@@SorcererVtuber Its on the "to add list" if I remember correctly that the game will have night cycles. Well have to check out the roadmap when they release it but honestly I would love NVG & NVG scopes too in GZW.
Exactly. That’s why I love it. The components of tarkov and dayz that I’m
Not a fan of are not in GZW. That being said I’m not saying this is better than both of those games at this point, but it’s a more streamlined combination of both.
how is it similar to ghost recon
13:15 "a threeway faction combat"... I will remember these words for my next Berlin visit.
I don't play Tarkov because PvP isn't my thing, but a PvE mode sounds enticing. Glad to see some competition in this market
When I'm playing solo I'm on pve and it's good, it's still pretty difficult in the later areas
PvE is awesome, and if you choose to its a simple relog to jump into PVP.
You can use tarkov single player mod. It's free and works better than original game. Should give you at least 50-100 hours of gameplay
@@tsorevitch2409 I don't feel like playing "Junk Identifier 2017" personally, but that's me.
%1 of early access games get to be good. Let's hope this one does it.
Even though MFG made mostly mobile games before this, their mobile game portfolio is rather impressive.
they also seem to have quite a few veteran devs on the team that know their stuff.
So hopefully this does turn into a solid shooter.
@@DatAsianGuy And let's not forget the kickass human relations team, which has DevilDogGamer from youtube on Board.
@@hiiambarney4489 DeviDog is not a good thing, he’s actually pretty toxic and bad for the comunity
This one feels different. They definitely hit the ground running so it's gonna be interesting.
well.. 90% of early access games that start out good typically stay good. see BG3, V rising, rim world, hades, subnautica, etc., etc. All those games started out as great games that actually had content to play, as opposed to feeling like a tech demo, but were still "early access" when compared to what their full releases look like. Some of them like BG3 felt like a full release, but that's an outlier. There's plenty of EA games that didn't release on the same level as BG3, but they still felt like a "full game," even when the full release ended up even better.
all that to say, 1%, while obviously just an arbitrary number, is still not very telling of the full picture. If you're talking about any and every dogshit single high school dev EA game then yeah maybe 1% end up good, but the odds are a lot more in your favor when you're looking at a game that has a really solid foundation. I haven't played this game, but I think you can get a good feel for how an EA game will turn out, even if there's hundreds or thousands of random shit EA games out there.
AI does not "see you" in bushes. They shoot into a direction you were spotted. If you move in semi circles, you will flank them and will kill them.
I think the bush encounters you described are very highly realistic and should stay that way, because they illustrate just how effective guerrilla warfare is.
I bought tarkov 4 years ago, it is still in beta. Grayzone has friendlier entry point for casual players, i think.
It does which is why I’m digging it. You have streamers who want more PVP focused gameplay, and unfortunately mad fingers will give in to a certain degree so they have free advertising, but so far they’ve done a fine job
A lot of games are in "forever beta" development cycle. One such example is Warframe.
Great video I always enjoy your game reviews. As someone who's played EFT off and on for getting close to 10 years now and watched that game progress.. I'm really excited for the future of GZW.
Early access or not I put 20+ hours in the first week having a blast with some friends which is really rare for me to do as a 42 year old dad.
Complaining that having enemies utilize cover and concealmeant realistically in a mil-sim game baffles me.
Combat in the wider world is a nightmare? Yeah, it is.
Take from an infrantryman: You don't cross open areas (kill zones) if you can avoid it.
It most certainly is still a skill based game at that point, just not the skills you are used to.
The skill goes from who can get their crosshair on target first to who was utilizing the terrain best, which is exactly what OSUT trains soldiers to do. Utilize high ground, micro-terrain, whatever you can do to not die. Once you've done that THEN you return fire.
Unfortunately "realistic" and "fun" don't really mix when it comes to war.
The problem is when the AI can see through the concealment, so it ends up being that against players it is realistic bot against bots is miserable because the cover is useless to the player but amazing for the AI
The easy fix is to make sure that the AI have this vision obscured by vegetation
@@kingbonezai4925The only reason they didn't do this if i had to guess is due to them not being able to figure out a way to not re render the game for every bot which would massively tank fps server side and probably client side.
@@kingbonezai4925I think the problem is how the Ai tracks u, sometimes I aggro the Ai in area A then keep running into the other side of the map to area B and the Ai are still shooting at me from 1 km away when I’m inside a building, like they esp, wich they do, but needs to be tuned down, it makes using concealment and cover pretty useless if the Ai always track you trough stuff
@@gamingnurse5.56 yeah, the enemy being able to see through trees and have perfect aim is what killed Arma PvE for me. There multiplayer was an even field but the pve was not.
@@kingbonezai4925 In Arma III, they don't really "see" through trees or bushes. If they notice you going there, they will open fire as its your last known location. Their accuracy also grows the more often you shoot from the same spot. It sometimes looks like they just see but that's not really intended behavior as far as I know.
Perhaps they are going for the same effect in GZW but it's in early stages.
It's an extremely ambitious project and i hope it succeeds at everything it it goes for. Not for me quite yet but the devs deserve props for creating competition.
I'm eagerly keeping an eye on Gray Zone Warfare! Hoping to see a bit better optimization, but am definitely thrilled to see it getting more coverage amidst all the absolute chaos happening in Gaming right now.
Thanks for sharing!
didn't gray zone release as an ALPHA version? like do people not know what that is?
Based on the game's Discord, no.
"Do you guys not have phones?" energy
This game's so raw it's still attached to an "animal".
Lmao 😂😂
That's a little disingenuous to say, tbh. Just because the game doesn't have all the features you would see in a fully released title doesn't mean there hasn't been major development headway made thus far. The map design, movement, and shooting mechanics are some of the hardest to nail down for a PvP focused shooter, especially in the open world, and that's something they've done better than their competitors, for the most part, already. Sure there are several mechanics and game systems that need to be tweaked or re-hauled, but like UE mentioned, that's just the icing on the already baked cake. Be overly critical if you want, but I think you'll be eating your words in the next year.
It's got more than takov had when it launched. ALOT more. Hell, given that Nikita's supposed vision for the game is to eventually unify the maps into one open world, you could argue that this game is ahead of Tarkov in its current state in that one (but very big) regard.
i miss friend and foe detection. like armbands in different colors and stuff because its basically impossible to differentiate atm.
I mean there is a toggle-able mini map. Needs improvement, but generally have good comms with my team and know where they are and check the map for faction members every once in a while. If I don’t have a faction member or a teammate that I’m expecting there I shoot it and don’t need to double check. So far haven’t screwed up. But I’ve gotten sick of other faction members shooting the crap out of our squad. Too many people that kill faction mates on purpose or not with no penalty
They are working on arm bands atm, but you have a blue force tracker built into your map already. It's not hard to ID friendlies.
Really enjoying Greyzone. Playing this with a buddy is super fun and most people you meet in the towns are super friendly as well. Feels like this will become a solid game I'll keep playing for a whole long while.
Weirdly enough the experience that had me go, “alright this is pretty great” was when I was pinned down behind a tractor by two bots in the first town. Using the direction of plants and objects getting hit by rounds, I was able to blind fire into a direction I thought the two guys were. The shots stopped, and when I moved up, I saw the bullet impacts on the wall next to the body where I had shot back. It was a little moment but one where I felt like I actually used the jungle environment to shift the tide. I hope they keep expanding it
@UpperEchelon the game isnt supposed to be "skill-based". It is a simulator, and those frustrating bush attacks are part of that.
Sounds like real war to me... don't get to decide what is fair because someone hid in the bushes and you didn't see them.
I don't play much games, but that is real life and pretty cool. I could disappear in a crop field, but if someone had heat sensitive goggles I'm not so hidden anymore and I'm a sitting duck.
@@volvo09 exactly. This isnt COD, the people who play this want that ridiculous realism. I play Squad for the same thing.
people need to get into the habit of deploying smoke at the exfil
Your explanation of the terrain issue just sold it for me. That is realistic and how it should be.
Heroes and generals had this tipe of camuflage in encounters. Was fun.
i hedge my bets and bought the supporter edition, im all in for GZW. Cant wait to see how high they bring it
I love this game, as someone who doesn't have the time nor willpower to learn every map in a game like the back of my hand, the simple addition of a map makes this game better than tarkov to me.
Everyone was better off if they just kept working on the game for another 6 months or maybe even a year, damnn. But yeah I chose to buy an unfinished product fully aware, but I didn't know it would crash randomly...
I can live with 40 frames but it keeps crashing when I bring a M4, and it's not the only big problem with the game.
- No loot, bad sale prices, weird order of vendor unlocks
- Super bad AI or X ray Terminator AI that sees through bush and wall, insane aimbot
- Weird hit detection on enemies, sometimes they drop, sometimes they tank all your shots.
All of these things you mentioned will likely be fixed within the next 6 months or so, but honestly this game IS in a playable state right now. I think it was a great idea to release when they did to capitalize on the market. PvP is, for most, the main focus of this game, and notice how few people are complaining about that. It's because the PvP is extremely good and the gun play is better than Tarkov imo. This game has great bones and I think it's got a great future ahead. It just needs some dedication and elbow grease.
Also, what specs are you running , and where are you on the map when you're getting ~40 frames in this game?
@@AngerSaltthat’s wishful thinking. Devs have slot on their table, they will have to prioritize. The last 3 hotfixes did nothing for performance. As early adopters we should tell the audience they need to think about their setup before buying this game. The game is “playable@ if you have a 3060ti or higher
Very well summarized. Rogue mechanics are actually planned, boss of Madfinger said it´s quite challenging to come up with good, functional and fun mechanics that will reduce friendly fire griefing
I see your point. And I'd add that indeed the performance/servers problems is what most players feels it's the problem *right now*.But after the fixes, we will see more discussions about contents and other things. .
Sounds like this has pretty cool and novel features that can make it stand out 🌪️
The faction system reminds me a lot of new world. I can easily see this being a “one faction controls a serve” type situation, just like in new world.
There are low player caps on every server which will never be difficult to fill provided there are still people playing the game. It'll nearly 100% of the time be an even team split across the server. So unless one faction is just way better than another (those specific ~20 people on a specific faction on a specific server), it'll remain pretty balanced.
You have to consider that New World servers host thousands of people at a time that completely belong to that very SPECIFIC server and never move to another. GZW puts you in a random server every time you play with ~60 people or so total and there is a per faction player cap instead of a flat server cap. As such, GZW servers aren't structured in such a way where that would ever be an issue.
@@AngerSalt
I think the smaller player cap makes this worse not better. It will just take a team of 20 people on discord to coordinate a spawn camping session. Griefing is already an issue in the game. This will only get worse if this goes mainstream.
Look at rust, look at ark, look at every single pvp centered game in existence. If your home base is able to get raided then there will be a dis balance.
They already added the feature where you can join your friends and even switch factions. So no this is going to be a “faction owns this server” situation. Unless they are forcing people to join the loosing faction, then it will be a snowball effect of everyone switching to the winning faction
I’ve bought the game for myself and a friend; I’ve enjoyed it so far. I have minor gripes with the game atm like occasional crashes or the helicopter queue but overall it’s been great coming from someone who never played EFT or DayZ.
I think I may even purchase an upgraded edition if the developer continues to show effort and a pro-consumer attitude.
Love ya man, your crits on environment signal that you've never played DayZ and this is the environment we have all wanted in the DayZ universe since inception. I don't think that you understand how much skill is involved in detecting and not being detected, by staying still and hunting your target, while not being hunted. Hardcore DayZ players understand this. #GrayZ will be a mod in Bohemia's masterpiece one day, but I'm willing to bet that those of us who have had a love affair with DayZ, will be flocking to this as a pass-time to break things up, strictly because of the foliage that you appeared to not love. I never miss a video of yours. Peace.
*Edit: DayZ players have no problem running to the LZ, in fact, it's a valid strategy to frontrun the LZ's that are going to be camped to clear out the LZ. There is a lot missing from this game in order to make it feel like a jungle shooter, ala Vietnam style. Yes I said jungle shooter, because that's what it feels like to me. Less mud, rain, cigarettes and napalm, but close enough. To be honest, I think that the final vision of this game, might be years away, if my minor vision is of any indication.
Appreciate you, take care.
I really need UE to talk about the Helldiver Sony fuster cluck lol.
Its hilarious!
Enjoying the Alpha of this game tremendously. Looking forward to Beta and then 1.0 release. This game seriously scratches the itch I have after The Cycle: Frontier shut down... apart from the lack of science fiction.
most of the foliage stuff can be fixed by making bushes and leaves deflect and make noise when a gameplay object moves through them + optional slow
As someone who has played scp 5k and other unreal based tac shooters. Im sure that this game will be great when it gets polished.
It's ao much fun, the big thing is if you can run it.
Diamond in the rough is a fantastic phrase for it.
As a arma/dayz player , your issues with the game design is actually is kinda interesting to me. Spending 45mins organizing and an hour loading up to go to a fight only to get dome'd by the first burst of enemy fire is kinda my jam lol
Im incredibly in love with this game. I also split my stash with splits of money the top is my pve gear and the bottom is pvp only.
Honestly been loving it. It feels like a mix of Tarkov and Arma 3 Wasteland, which I hope it leans more into with the Arma 3 Wasteland dynamic quests
As a dev, I can see this as a very very solid platform to continue to build off of, which is one of the most important parts. I look forward to the future of the game.
I am loving Gray Zone, I have been describing it as ARMA and Tarkov had a baby. Here is to hoping it will only get better.
The fact that they did the opposite of an "Instanced" server is a huge W over Tarkov. Definitely peaks my interest but imma let em cook for a bit..
Promising, but needs alot more time in the oven. Drewskie pointed out some other aspects as well, like how the landing zones can easily be camped, how task progression isn't great when playing in a team, and how the sounds cape is quite lacking.
Hey I’m having a great time, looking forward to updates and hot-fixes. But it’s good for early access
Gray Zone Warfare is based in Laos not Vietnam. You are thinking of Incursion Red River which is another extraction shooter but is inspired in Vietnam. Know its hard for people to differentiate the minor details of languages. modern Vietnamese typically use Roman-latin alphanumeric with Diacritics(The little symbols over the letters) or chinese based letters Where Laotian and other South east asian laungauges use a Sanskrit based letters
I fucking love this channel.
It's insane to think this is from the same devs who worked on Dead Trigger, a pretty nice mobile zombie shooter over a decade ago. Guess pushing boundaries is their DNA
It makes me wanna get a pc and learn to play with a mouse
You will not regret that!
best way to get good with a mouse and keyboard are games like minecraft or call of duty, casual games that you can slowly learn the mechanics through constantly pressing the same buttons. Also if youre looking to get a PC, you may want to hold off. GPU prices are in a weird spot right now where we dont know if theyre about to skyrocket or plummet
@@walmartnibba4726 big thanks indeed standing by for now
@@TheLooking4sunset no problem, and unfortunately looks like GPU prices went up. Wait until the new RTX 50 series launches, the RTX 3060TI should drop to around 200-250 and the 4060 should drop to around 250-280
@@walmartnibba4726 thank you, well I still really wonder, if after 30 years on consoles I should really try, thank you in any case, if mouse and keyboard are viable I would go for a 4k capable pc
If I ever get an extraction shooter game, I'm just going to stick with the pve aspect of it since I already have experience with the pvp side like Arena Breakout (which is ironically pay-to-win as well).
Stay safe, Echelon. Nice cake analogy.
Feel like performance isn't that big of a problem but I obviously understand everyone's case isn't the same. The loop is fun. More helos needed asap
Gotta pull up when UE does a game review
i like the picture in picture scopes. it's heavy on performance cos it essential has to render the game twice.
They are cool for sure, but not when the game runs like complete ass during their usage. I 100% would prefer PIP to full scope, but I don't want to be sub 60fps in certain areas of the map when I'm trying to shoot someone.
Just added it to my steam wishlist
One selling point with this game being "years" behind tarkov is that new players arent going to face the literal cliff wall learning curve because this is new for everyone
Fyi it's set in Laos, not Vietnam.
The AI in this game are worse than Scavs on Woods. I got insta-killed by AI hidden in foliage numerous times, and not even knowing they are there, just feet away at times, is frustrating as hell. What good do ears do if you still can't hear footsteps or the rustle of foliage just 10 feet away?
I’m having a blast in the pve mode . I wish we had a chinhook to transport us but I’ll live with the little bird
id love to try this game
Feels more like a rough diamond instead. Plenty of performance issues for mid-high to low machines, which tend to include most people.
There's a bunch of stuff that still needs to be done before most people will be able to enjoy it. Still waiting for the planned day/night cycle, side attachments, personal camps myself.
The base product is good for me though. I'm in it for the PvE. I've always had fun with my friends playing Ghost Recon type games.
Due to my jungle sniper play style recently, I've noticed how the current AI handles spotting you and foliage. Normally they don't have very good awareness.
Shooting at them generally makes them shoot back right in your direction, including the bush you duck behind. They don't have to take time to spot you in this case.
They can easily lose you behind multiple bushes and trees. I've snuck up on an AI 5 feet away from me, who jumped in a bush and went blind at my last known position.
I bought this game a few days ago, because of Bigfry's videos on it, and I enjoyed it even with the optimization being fairly poor.
It's really an alpha, i wouldn't even say it's developed enough to call a beta, but it has the ability to become something more in the future, I think it is worth the price for the lowest edition, and if it gets better i will upgrade to the next teir.
Especially if they include a PvE mode similar to Helldivers, then I'd be more than happy to support this Greyzone. I love seeing indies do well and compete with the top!
It’s an extraction shooter, it has pve but I doubt the devs will ever do that since it goes against the whole extraction gameplay
Just checking to hear about this game I'll probably never play. Nice video human.
Like the video peeps
This sounds exactly like Palworld and Ark: Survival. Ark releases new game, pisses off the players because of insane system requirements and all the bugs that stayed in the new game from the old, then Palworld shows up with an almost identical gameplay loop. It was broken, sure, but Ark players in that case were just grateful to have something else that did it well.
Now former tarkov player here: I'm getting it and trying it out not just because it looks interesting, but as a middle finger to BSG for their scummy practices with tarkov as of late.
I’m having fun in PvE with the boys. And there are flaws but I want to support this game early access to help them build it better.
If they could just make it like DMZ without the usual cod bs it would be perfect
A game that is less hardcore than tarkov and open world just scratch the spot for me. I have been enjoying it a lot more than I expected. I am just hoping the devs would not screw up.
Definitely seems like a game to keep my eyes on for my group. Payday3 looks like a flop to us. We were going to give it a try but decided not to with the issues it has had.
Still going to let this one cook some while we keep on diving into Helldivers.
And something I see people don’t talk about for the success and the future of grey zone the big mistake BFG have done and style have issues constantly with is the engine of the game, BFG chose Unity for EFT and if you fallow the update of EFT in the last 7 years is the constant trouble with the engine and difficulty implementing new technologies and game mechanics, Grey zone chose Unreal 5 with a imengus community, support and a facility to find talented people to work on the game i think is a big impact for the future my take is not random you can find multiple interviews with Nikita talking about how chit Unity is to work with
Great video, I did buy Gray Zone but the performance sucks once that is fixed I think the game will be really good. I have been playing single player tarkov and also project Fika tarkov with friends.
I appreciate your view.
Lets just hope that they keep the botters under control. It seems like every hooter I have played in the past 10 years has had far to many bots or hackers in it to keep the game interesting to me.
Hell let loose player here. I love Grey Zone. I have the advantage of playing with Ex. Military serving friends, so I'm guessing I have a better experience than some. I'm fine with all the performance issues at the moment. The only thing I really don't like is if you die and the game crashes, you loose your inventory. It's happened multiple times to me and my friends today alone, and that's hard to take. Yes, I know, Early Access n'all that. It can also be frustrating on a busy server, waiting for a heli to get to an op. (or exfil) Hopefully, these things will be ironed out over time.
can you do a video about the disaster Kerbal Space Program 2 development?
If the devs on this game listen as for example as much as HD2 devs, then this game will be epic! (not counting in the shit Sony tried pulling)...... I dont even have GZW, but I am thinking of getting it
3:08 tail rotor loading ☠️
Breakout Infinite just came out in beta (basically tarkov but better, and more pvp encounter with kinda broken spawn atm), but I still love the Grayzone more, since the pacing, atmosphere, and immersion are much stronger and it's still barebone than tarkov and breakout.
You just do stuff and explore at your leisure. and I love the pacing of the game more. and if they deliver that Early access notes as they said, it would be a great game in the future.
Atm, just need some good AI, QoL with the chopper, and performance patch would be great.
Ex-Tarkov player here...
Tbh Id rather spend the rest of my days playing GZW at the current state of the game, not even minding the PVP aspect, than go back to Tarkov.
This is not a diamond in the rough
This is the diamond we needed.
I really hope they keep this good direction and dont screw it up.
Pretty much the only reason I didn't try out Tarkov is that I didn't like how the devs treated the community. If they manage to iron out the performance issues and show that they can add content then I will be getting it. I will be watching this one with great interest.
I have a RTX 3070 ti and a ryzen 9 5900x and it genuinely runs terrible, i drop to the 10s and 20s regularly when i enter villages, the performance is too trash right now to recommend to anyone, but the bones of the game is cool tbh
That sounds like you have other issues there man
I've got a 3070 and a 5600x and I'm running 40 to 70 frames so there might be something else going on
13:00 this is a dangerous stance, you should not attribute ideas and future updates to games if the developer didn't specifically talk about them. I call it Imagine the possibilities fallacy
Agree, people when do this and then say “oops it’s early access sorry! They might add it later just keep waiting”, tempering expectations is crucial here.
I wish they implemented more dayz/Squad fundamentals like player controlled heli and teamwork in that sense or open world more alive so it felt like walking was more worth it. Dayz does that perfectly. Instead, it’s a huge empty world and you simply fly into specific small towns. So the entireeeeee world is pointless besides the drop points. It just fills empty void space. Oh look trees, cool nothing there….
Upper echelon has lost his way, i think ai makes these videos now.
Ive been having that feeling for a while now, his videos have become basically just whiny nonsense with shit takes
The game is no worse than Tarkov was in its alpha sale state. I've been with that game from the very beginning, including closed alpha testing. I think a lot of folks are viewing this game in the wrong light right now, and I for one am looking forward hopefully to some good progress from the devs. They seem for communicative and proactive.
"There is an enourmmous amount of potential here"
A blank piece of paper has the most potential possible. What is your point?
I agree people love to compare with it tarkov which is hilarious imagine a game that’s been out for 7 years being comparable to a early access title? LMAAOOO
looks fun 👍
Maybe if one team wore neon orange, one neon yellow, and one neon pink. Then you could find each other in the underbrush. 🤷♂️
Yes, and everyone should have arrows above their head that everyone can see!
Also, they should affix floating triangles over their heads, flashing red, very realistic.
my biggist isusse with the game in the DC's and at random just losing all Your gear. one DC You get kicked jump back into the game and You still have all Your gear, the next DC You get kicked come back in and all of Your stuff is just gone. there are people getting hit witht he bug so hard that they even losing things from there stash and there lock box from DCing. only way to fix it atm is to wape Your save and start over, i love GZW but it Needs 3 to 6 Months just to work on the severs. my 2nd issuse is the choppers having to wait 30 mins to get one out of the base because all of the players are all over the map, they need to add AI humvees that can drive You to LZs too it would help so much yes it would take longer but it wait 30 mins or walk to the other side of the map.
7:28 The horizontal bar in the Cyrillic letter Д is not on the baseline as it should be. Literally unplayable.
Yeah my PC said no. He looked at the game and just said no. Performance looks abysmal
It will be more fun to play when i don't loose 4 kits when the game crashes while in heli on way to zone
I've been meaning to try this, but does it have a single-player campaign at least or is it just MMO? Because I think well-written campaigns is what the gaming industry currently lacks.
you can play it as pve and it has a story, although since it only just launched into ea, the story isnt finnished yet. Ive been playing it as a single player game and I love it.
@@alexanderhauser7702 great. I will wait maybe a couple of weeks for a new update and then give it a try.
It can be soloed, but some missions clearly require a 4man squad. some even more than 4... One city in the game is quite hard, ive had factions uniting in my server because of how hard it was.
@@lordsp pussies, i did them all by myself. The game takes more patience, precision and stealth than most are familiar with
Early access = at your own risk
If you wanted a smooth finished game then you shouldn't play in an early access. I love this game so far. It's been a while since I have had the feeling of "can't wait to play". When this game is fully finished it might be the new market champ.
That's guerrilla warfare
This game is janky as fuck but I'm loving it so far after nearly 19 hours.
