Loved the ending of Polar Vortex. Pure evil! Congratulations to everyone at HorrorBabble. Since I became disabled, your hard work often results in a delightful listen for me. I'd never have the patience to actually read all the great stories or get to know the authors' works if not for you. So much better to just sit back, listen, and enjoy!
I hear you brother! My disability makes reading print for any length of time impossible. I feel like I’ve become friends with the cast and crew. Thank you guys! It’s a nice abyss you’ve got!
And then there came to me the crowning horror of all-the unbelievable, unthinkable, almost unmentionable thing. I have said that aeons seemed to elapse after Warren shrieked forth his last despairing warning, and that only my own cries now broke the hideous silence. But after a while there was a further clicking in the receiver, and I strained my ears to listen. Again I called down, “Warren, are you there?”, and in answer heard the thing which has brought this cloud over my mind. I do not try, gentlemen, to account for that thing-that voice-nor can I venture to describe it in detail, since the first words took away my consciousness and created a mental blank which reaches to the time of my awakening in the hospital. Shall I say that the voice was deep; hollow; gelatinous; remote; unearthly; inhuman; disembodied? What shall I say? It was the end of my experience, and is the end of my story. I heard it, and knew no more. Heard it as I sat petrified in that unknown cemetery in the hollow, amidst the crumbling stones and the falling tombs, the rank vegetation and the miasmal vapours. Heard it well up from the innermost depths of that damnable open sepulchre as I watched amorphous, necrophagous shadows dance beneath an accursed waning moon. And this is what it said: “KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND, AS ALWAYS, STAY SAFE!”
My goodness!!! I never could "access" lovecraft so tday, as many times before, wondered where the intro came from, just as you fleshed it out for me here, which made me finally look it up as it sounded so chilling!! Thanks!! P.S I demand you refrain from judging my lack of Lovecraftian literature knowledge!!😆

Amazing as always Ian. The cover reminds me of the only full sized replica of the Parthenon which is in Nashville. Has a full sized statue of Athena (42'/12.8m) with Nike (6'/1.8m) in her hand. 💀
He’s doing great! He survived. & is living in Cuba with Elvis, Tupac, Jim Morrison, jfk Jr, juda ben hur, Odysseus, and Walt Disney. We’re all made out of the same clay!
@Tala K this damned Gram Hancock dude has me believing in Atlantis from Antarctica being the ancient civilization that went around building pyramids, teaching law, and and agriculture. All while throwing up pyramids everywhere they went. Warren was seen drunkenly wandering the sailor bars in Province. … He’s groovy! Simple slide of hand subterfuge.
2:34:00 My maternal grandparents home was added on to several times over their nearly hundred years there. The built it ground up in the way back of Mid Michigan. There was a third floor inaccessible except by a staircase hidden behind a wall. There were passages going between rooms, entrances in closets. The third floor was Grams private domain. Looked 1933 up there.
-2:15 (The Horla) from cheerfulness and everything’s right with the world to the unsettled melancholy of hopelessness - beautifully expressed, such a perfect transition. it authentically describes the mood change so well, just as i feel it happening. it’s also interesting to me that this mood swing was recognized then.
You'd have to ask Lovecraft to get those details. I'm sure he's still out there somewhere, but can we somehow get in touch? And if we could make contact, in one form or another, would we come away pleased, or would we be shocked, - even horrified! - at what we learn from him? As the great Rod Serling once wrote, " You should be careful about what you go looking for, you might not like what you find."
Yeah! Farmers start disappearing, the only witnesses are suspicious looking cows..or? Maybe like a Maximum Overdrive theme where the machines grow sentient and become murder ers
I don't get the odd random ending if the first one. The centaur just randomly started dancing and chanting for no reason? Just out of nowhere? How did it get burned up in the house if it was chanting outside? How did the fire even start?
I got the impression that the old gentleman or the servants (or both) killed the unfortunate centaur and then burned the house down to cover up the crime..
I Hope, I Prayed that maybe, just maybe, poor Warren had finally made it... guess not, huh? At least I have FIVE HOURS of Horrible Old Stories to ruminate with!!!
I hate when videos say to check the description for a link to the previous parts and then they don't actually put the link in the description so you have to scroll forever sometimes to find it on their page. I usually give up and move on, which is what I'm doing here. Too bad.

FOR GLORY!!! and sleep 😴 Lol love ya Ian, thanks for everything!!!!
RIP to Warren, you fools! Great babble again! Thanks 👍😎🇦🇺
Great stories and narration!
Thanks!
That centaur story is such an amalgam of incredulity, humor and abhorrence that I'm at a loss for the right word or phrase to describe it. Fantastic!
Just finished listened to Diary Volume One so ready for Volume Two. As always thanks to everyone involved for all your hard work.
Me: Maybe it's time to go to bed
HorrorBabble: Releases 5 hour collection
Me: .... Ok, maybe not
Outstanding as always many thanks Ian I'm going to enjoy listening to this!🙂👍🏻
So beautifully told. Your voice is pure music. And the topics... highly appropriate to the music in question!

Thank you, Horror Babble, you have saved my afternoon! This is going to be great.
An engaging, entertaining and very welcome 2nd helping of Diary Horror. Excellent as always, HB.
Listening from the ukwales❤
Just what I needed!
I love your longer videos like this because they make my workday a littke less monotonous :D
I'm so old, I remember when Warren was just a wee one.
Amazing as always Ian. The cover reminds me of the only full sized replica of the Parthenon which is in Nashville. Has a full sized statue of Athena (42'/12.8m) with Nike (6'/1.8m) in her hand. 💀
Damn good Ian thanks. Some good ones here 👍🏻
In bed listening to the rain and now I have this to listen to 😁

Ian Gordon: I'm completely amazed at your skill and artistic readings. Thank You so much. May you and yours be happy, safe and well

Has Ian Gordon ever been questioned in regards to Warren's death?

…that centaur story is barely veiled eroticism. I love it
Centaurs are cool. Pans not so much.
Dude was totally gay for the centaur
The intro image is gorgeous!!
I thought we were getting into Centaur erotica territory there for a bit. Next time, perhaps.
Funny! thanks for the chuckle.
“‘Who is John?’” by the way.” -The Impossible Adventure (33:50) He appears to be Mr Mountain’s comic relief….
Poor Warren
My dyslexia told me that this was Dairy Horror, and I was like, how much can happen at a.dairy??!!!

Didn't Stern write a horror story called "Hatless & Bare-Headed" ??
Don't know about Stern but "Hatless and Bare-Headed" is true horror! Believe me I know. Thanks for the chuckle.
That centaur story was a bit of a half-assed job.
I Hope, I Prayed that maybe, just maybe, poor Warren had finally made it... guess not, huh? At least I have FIVE HOURS of Horrible Old Stories to ruminate with!!!
Came for the art, stayed for the stories.
ai generated art bullshit stealing from artists for the databse set, wow so cool
How did you do all this?
The Horla is a particularly horrifying tale.
Dear Diary: Today OP was really scary.
That background girl is cute. What's her @?
I swear that's a boy, lol?!!!😆
❤
The Way Home, kind of took the tale of the outsider in another direction. So desperate seeking only to know the truth.
Artist link for first image?
Kinda wish the art went back to the more human kind.

Half an hour more about centaurs? Sorry, not feeling it.
Lazarus envies Warren.
