For my prediction for Kuja's appearances in Kingdom Hearts, you'll first meet him in The Jungle Book's world, and when you first encounter him; Kuja will jump out of nowhere and he'll ask you to fight him. Sora takes out his keyblade and you and Kuja started fighting. After you defeat Kuja, he will disappear with light brighting over Sora (kind-a like Sephiroth in the first Kingdom Heart game). Then you get a new keyblade called "The Gaia of Will".

He needs both the sun sigil and sun crest to be able to use his ultimate weapon, Caldeblog to it's fullest. FFX also has a few pertinent scenes that play out with the back-drop of a sunset. SO all and all, Kuja referenced Tidus' being of existence and his affiliation with the sun....that clever bastard...
