    This is so pretty, i love that you're doing the graphs! I'm trying to conceive of how to apply this same technique to a sweater, I would love to do a sweater that says hope to match the hat. Such a great tutorial!!

    I love this hat ❤❤ It's a beautiful design. I'm a Cancer patient and have been thriving and living with cancer for many years. I would like to make this hat and give it as a gift when I go for my chemotherapy treatments. I am going to attempt because I find it hard to read diagrams, graphs and patterns. I love follow along tutorials. I have a few questions: if I use a #4 weight yarn, what # needle should I use? Do I still start off with 6 chains or more? Thank you and have a Blessed day 🙏 ❤

      @yvonnemetz1  2 года назад +1

      You’re welcome Maria! 😊 So glad you liked it! Great question I haven't tried it with #4 yarn yet. I think for the brim you'd want to change a few more - Maybe 9 chains. I would say try a size I hook. It's just hard to know how this will turn out. Thank you for watching!

    I really love the way these beanies turn out. Is there anyway to do it with 4 wt yarn? I really hate to purchase more yarn as I have waaayy too much stash now lol. Wondering if I make the graph bigger, with more stitches?? If anyone knows either pls lmk in a reply. Thanks so much for sharing. 🧶♥️

      TammieTalks Hi there! Totally know what you mean about buying more yarn. Maybe try holding 2 strands together? I do have a gauge on the pattern. Thinking that might work! Thanks for watching! 👍🏽❤️

    I have a question, can I use a smaller hook to get say more words on the beanie. Like say live ,laugh, love and then maybe a heart. I see you use a bigger hook. I was wondering if using a smaller hook would help me with my ideas I have I want to make

      Hi there! So sorry didn't see this message. I don't see why not. I just haven't done it yet. Or even the words could be on separate rows if that makes sense? I'll have to think on this one. Thank you for watching.

      Hi Michelle, I have not yet tried #4 yarn. Thinking that you can but just use 2 strands held together. But I know these can be done it would be just changing up the Graph. I'll see what I can do about creating one in #4 yarn. Thank you for watching.

    How did you get 51 sc in the first row after the 45 row that's the 171/2 strip ?

    When you join the brim and chain 1 do you put a single crochet in the chain 1 or in the next

    • @yvonnemetz1

      Hi Luz, the ch 1 doesn't count as a stitch so yes the next. Thank you for watching.

      @@yvonnemetz1 if the chain 1 doesn't count as a stich i thought we had to put a sc in that one

    • @yvonnemetz1
      @yvonnemetz1  4 года назад

      Hi Luz, no you go into the brim with the sc. The ch 1 won't count through-out the whole pattern. Hope this helps.

    Yvonne Metz....when figuring out how big or small to make the graph hats, is there a certain multiple of stitches to use? or maybe ending with an even or odd number of stitches? i'm kinda, sorta, almost, nearly ready! Lol
    Thanks

    • @yvonnemetz1
      @yvonnemetz1  4 года назад +2

      Hi Ms Debbie, Ok so you know I'm still a Rookie right? LOL! BUT here is how I started - I went up 9 rows (Height of words) You can do 10 I think. Then for the stitches across The Hope and the Love Beanies were 19/20. Again in both I'm using #5 Yarn. I'm going to try with a #4 yarn but have something else on my Hook right now! Hope this makes sense! Thank you for watching!

      @@yvonnemetz1 ohhhh ya, those are all good points that I hadn't really thought of ( surprise surprise!) But if I wanted to make a smaller or larger hat I would need more or less STS around the brim. Just wondered if I need an even or odd # of sts so that the first row of co ordinating colour stitches under the word line up at the end. Thanks!!!

    • @yvonnemetz1
      @yvonnemetz1  4 года назад +1

      Hi Deb! LOL!!! Ok so for the 1st row color stitches where it's main color x 2 then contrast color x 1, If I remember correctly it was odd number. That's why 51 worked. Hope this makes sense. If you are off by 1 it's not really noticeable though. Thank you for watching!

    • @yvonnemetz1
      @yvonnemetz1  4 года назад

      Lisa Noland yes just add an extra stitch to make 51.
