Will Paterson I got an iPad Pro because of you! Haha. First app downloaded was VECTORNATOR! Getting better at vectorising but your vector video really helped. Thank you.
One thing I’d like to know if you can help. When saving/exporting to the creative cloud, where does that go? I’ve just signed up to adobe but don’t have illustrator just yet. Waiting for the launch on iPad. Will my saved files be “there” once I get illustrator? Can I access my creative cloud? Thanks in advance
Thanks Will this is brilliant! I tried using the pen tool ages ago to vector some lettering and couldn't use it because I had no idea about the left hand shortcuts! So helpful, I'm going to try it again now. Thanks so much
Thank you for this! I’ve been playing around with the pen tool for a while, but just never truly understood the mechanics of the anchor points. This video was very helpful!!
Great! Just the right speed, I get impatient on some tutorials that are too slow that I have to speed things up, and it’s not the same experience, and it can make the video longer. But this is short and simple. I get it right away! More tutorial please!
Amazing I was looking for an app with specifically vector capabilities for my ipad, it's amazing how vectors make art easy for me, I can draw anything with vectors.
Thanks alot. This is by far the best tutorial i came across. 😊 Ps- It was creepy how i was trying to figure our what those white spots on your nails were.. and you explained it at the EXACT SAME moment 😆
First I have to say, this has been extremely useful. I just got the program and was quite confused by it. But this has been really helpful! Second... am I the only that feels like I'm listening to Jared Harris. LOL
Watching you use your iPad all the time is making me want to consider investing in one myself. In your opinion though, do you feel the 2019 model is going to be good for a while, or is there something about the new 2020 model that makes it worth holding out for? I.e. is there something significantly deficient about the "old" model that would make investing in it a poor decision? Thanks. Also thank you for all the quality content you produce, you're by far my favorite channel and your topics are always so consistent!!!
I've used Vectornator and it's fun. I'm amazed it's free. Once I learned how to use the Pen tool, it became much less frustrating to draw. However, my paths keep disappearing. Don't know what I am doing wrong. I checked layers and it doesn't have anything to do with that.
I'm having trouble as well with the pen tool nods at first it's normal goes both directions and after sometime say 1-2 minutes it automatically back at one nod and I don't know where am I going wrong here😩
@@yoimon6160 I've given up on Vectornator and I've gone back to Inkscape. I use a mac and have found ways to use Inkscape proficiently on my macbook, including how to use Bezier tool and nodes. I like certain things on Vectornator, such as the ability to switch from curves to straight lines by manipulating the anchor handles, and how the layers occur automatically but at the end of the day, I am more efficient with Inkscape, and the paths don't disappear on that unlike on Vectornator.
@@engespress that's great I'm thinking of choosing another app as well Vectornator isn't how it used to be any recommendations from you?? I use Ipad pro..
Hi Every shape became a vector in Vectornator? If I not use the pen tool and only create shapes and export…..It became a Vector ? Can I print in any size?
Hi how can I erase a part of a text with the pen? Example: if I want import a image and I would put part the text behind the imagine how can I do? If I want delete one o two letter from a title how can I do with the pen? Thank you
I feel like you didn’t explain *why* the nodes have to be horizontal and vertical. Also it would be great to know why you choose the node placement on the curve.
Just downloaded Vectornator, and this was the first video linked from the learning session. BOY IT'S FAST PACED for a first video, and you don't explain most of what you're doing. I get the feeling this video is intended for people who already know how to use the app. I'm having to rewind and replay several times to see. For example, undoing nodes. You didn't explain how you did that, but it looks like that's done with two-finger taps (single finger taps, which is what I thought it was at first) just adds nodes.
I was getting extremely frustrated because you cut out the bit where you say to click the select tool to pick a node... I’m a total newb at this and I was about to just give up.
Hope you guys enjoy the video! If you have any struggles with Vectornator let me know below! I'll make a video to help you out :)

Do you think Vectornator program can be used to make patterns? If so when printing them out, would they work printing on A4 paper?
@@trevordavis2760 I'm pretty sure it would work! Can't see why not :)
Hi. How to end the path in pen tool without closing it? Thank you.
There's truly nothing more satisfying that dragging an anchor point handle and absolutely nailing a curve to perfection first time
🤣
Thanks Will this is brilliant! I tried using the pen tool ages ago to vector some lettering and couldn't use it because I had no idea about the left hand shortcuts! So helpful, I'm going to try it again now. Thanks so much
i have 0 idea on using vector. but i do want to learn more since I'm trying to be a illustrator. Thanks for the tutorial. hoping for more!
Thanks for your help! I was so lost at the beginning and got frustrated but watching your video helped finish my project 🥰

O boye this is trully helpfull, unfortunately it is difficult to mimic such technique especially doing this on a smaller screen like an iPhone 7.
STAHP BITING YA NAILS MAN!
Great tutorial. How how I make straight vertical and horizontal lines? When I try to make horizontal line they are not fully 90 or 180.
Would you happen to know what the shortcut is for the 3 finger hold on a Handle, for a Macbook?:)

"Now that I've showed you the basics of the selection and pen tool" Me: "You did? When?"
Thank fox for your channel
But how do you determine where to put the points down?
It sounds like Tom Hardy is giving us a software tutorial.
Your first glimpse looked like that of Ed Sheeran
If you’re making this design in vector, what does it matter what size paper(A4) you select?
Will 'Vectornator" with aXP-Pen tablet?
Hey there Will. How about a link for the "Pen Tool". You'd make a commission from sales too!
Hope this isn’t a dumb question, but you can skip all this work using Adobe Illustrator right?

Yes

But if you have Illustrator just make " Image Trace"
WIll be much easier :)
It has a trace function
Hi, can we expand the stroke in vectonator? Thank you, looking for that way to expand/resterize stroke.

What ipad would you say is the best for procreate or vectornator

Is there a way to taper strokes that I made with the pen tool?! I cant seem to find that anywhere!
