Man synthetic ice is a pain in the butt. It's easier to handle than actual ice, but it's real bad for blades and dulls them down real quick. This thing is really cool though I still would want something like this in my basement! Awesome rink guys haha
Brianna Kaz Ice can be used for either sport. This ice in particular could ruin the blades of figure skates so I see where you are going. I apologize if I sounded rude.

You do understand building a rink in the basement won't solve your water intrusion problem I sure hope you took care of that before you built the rink : )

The crazy part about this is how simple and practical this set up is. The area isn't all that big. 15x8 by the looks of it. Totally doable.
