July 28, 2018 - Mount Pleasant, MI
Before the West Michigan Pullers (WMPullers) show in Mount Pleasant, there was already pulling action taking place on the track. I arrived shortly before they started the semi truck pulling, and they brought out Altered and Hot Diesel Semis for this pull. The Altered class went first, with Hot being next. It was a great show! Got to see some really nice old Cabovers as well. Awesome to see!

Wesley P There is truck drags like that. They use a fully loaded trailer. I went to one once, and damn. One of the trucks did a wheel stand cause of so much power. Pretty sure it twisted the frame lol.

I drive a 97 freightliner cabover every day hauling b-train (105500 lbs) in western washington. Hated it at first bust starting to like it more. Wish mine was pretty though.

jamacianbad machines... The trailer or "sled" has the box on top that moves forward on the chassis as we go down the track, therefore adding weight to the pan on bottom making it drag harder the further we go. AKA "weight transfer sled".. They can also change the amount of weight and gear the box to move faster or slower depending on what class of pullers they have.Good question tho!!

Traction seems to be the issue. If that sled actually put some weight on the drives, these trucks could pull way better.

They must be original size and street legal. It’s all about the placement of weight.
What exactly does the trailer on the back do to slow down the trucks
There is a sliding weight box. As the sled is moved forward, the box also goes forward putting more weight on the front end with no tires and taking weight of the tires of the sled.

You need to go to a pull and watch you will understand when the weight box comes up real quick

Yea, that Peterbilt probably had Caterpillar engine in it! A lot of Peterbilts used to have Caterpillars in them but Caterpillar quit making truck engines a while back

The weight stays the same it just transfer it to the front of the sled.

Freightliner once again dominates the competition! That's why I will put my Detroit 60 powered 97 fld day cab against any truck around and occasionally still piss on Pete's up hill with loads yea sorry but freightshakers get shit done!
