The fact they added D-Reaper as a deck you could use is awesome! Always loved how creepy it was and wish they brought it back somehow as a good villian. I was really into the D-Reaper aesthetic but was worried if the deck was any good. Then that last turn happened and it was amazing. Bullshit? Kinda. Reminds me of Goblin Belcher from MtG where you kinda win if you get to 7 (lands).
Seems vulnerable to blockers as well as strong security cards such as gaia force/ wyverns breath (wont kill out right but will turn him to 2k for the turn.)
Really shows that D-Reaper is a little too pushed. This is the optimal playline for Sakuyamon. You can't have a better start than this, but it still can't beat Reaper. If the Sakuya Deck didn't start on such a nutdraw, this game wouldn't have been close at all...
It was favourable for the D-Reaper as well since it was building up to that last turn. Just because nothing crazy happened during all the turns before doesn't mean it wasn't ideal for D-Reaper. Cards like ice wall and removal heavy decks shut it down rather easily.
@@kaen4299 I disagree a lot. Because you can't shut it down, in fact, since you can't answer either Mother D-Reaper or Reaper directly. Your best options are that Reaper hits something that instantly kill it on security, and the decks that have tons of options that can do that depend heavily on levels, such as BT08 Maste or more than a few purple options that Three Musketeer might play. Fly bullet won't do much, and it's unlikely that bullet showering will actually hit the Reaper. What you can interact with is the other reapers like Jery, but it still doesn't trully stop Mother D-Reaper, it only slows it down, but it still advances, and rather fast at that. Specially because the cards that will allow the deck to advance become cheaper and cheaper and it's easier to trigger their effects. And then, it also has very good security eff digimons, like Gatekeeper that gives you recovery and when you are close to end the game it creates yet another wall by giving AoE negative sec. And the problem is that these removal heavy decks are rather slow, by definition. So even if you can kill absolutely everything the reaper plays you are still not able to deal with the at least one seeker per turn Mother is absorbing. Ice Wall does buy you one turn. But only one. And now it's limited too. No, the answer against D-Reaper is not control. It's some form of rush. Kill it before it has any chance to advance any battle plan. It does not sound fun to either play or play against. It seems like a very stale gameplay
@@SelvenXXUP It's not a guessing game anymore at this point, you should watch some of the japanese meta games, it's been shown plenty that it can be countered by removals already, especially when they appear in security, a lot, which is rather consistent in removal heavy decks, obviously. Just read about those two decks. Sakuyamon performed better than what most people write. It probably draw insane but every evolution and option card replacing itself makes the deck functional. And that gatekeepers were insane.
Very cool decks! D-Reaper is much simpler to play than I thought it would be when the cards were first revealed. I do worry that Sakuyamon will be a popular deck when we get to EX02 in English. Honestly, I don't really want to sit around for that long watching my opponent trigger one effect after another, it's part of why I stopped playing YGO competitively. It kinda does EVERYTHING. You get draw from your sources, you control the board with DP based deletion, you get to unsuspend, you get to gain memory and recycle options to loop. It seems like we're going to have to start playing 4 copies of emergency program shutdown to try and keep all the options in check.
Let's face it. If you don't have an answer by at least turn 5 it's pretty safe to say reaper is winning the game. Great match though, I'm loving the Sakuyamon deck.

well, unless the 3rd sakuyamon was different from the other 2, he should've won there, because when digivolving he could have unsuspended any digimon and attacked directly to finish the game
Around the 5 minute mark, didn't all the Sakuyamon interitables trigger twice? Like the deck looks insane by itself, but I'm pretty sure at 5:54 two taomon skills shouldn't have triggered and that egg should only have let you draw a card once
You can still attack security even with security attack -1. In that case you won't perform any security checks, but it is still considered an attack, so you can still call an attack in order to fire "When attacking" effects, even if you don't break any Security.

I hope d-reaper gets some more cards and supports in the future one of my favorite decks
Sountrack name plz?!
When do these cards release in the us
where did you get the ST-3 patamon with that art?
The D Reaper is an interesting deck with weird artwork. btw, what is the name of this song?
Can you please write down the Sakuyamon decklist? I'm new to Digimon tcg. And i wanna built it for my 1st deck
Thanks
@CardProtagonist the D-Reaper deck as 53 cards ?
You may re edit Sakuyamon's deck whit to support to BT10?
Hahahah that was ridiculous!! I didn't understand how the D-Reaper deck worked, and this is my first time seeing it in action. Simply ridiculous
Just found out about this card game yesterday, and I like how it plays!
Question though, what effect causes you to draw 1 card at 5:00?
Welcome to the card game! Everytime you Digivolve or evolve a Digimon you get to draw a card! :)
@@CardProtagonist Ah, I see! I somehow missed it while reading the rules.
@@CardProtagonist why you using a 54 card deck?
@@HybridMMAExtreme A full deck is 50 cards + 0-5 Digi-Egg cards. Mother D-Reaper is a Digi-Egg, so it doesn't count towards the 50 cards.
Love your digimon matches gets me excited for the game, unfortunately my locals doesn't run games
Wow, looked so one-sided and then that last turn was nuts!!
Why does searcher inherited skill didn't applied when it was under mother? Doing so, no one of cprotagonist digimon could have been deleted with thos huge dp reductions
Did you forget to pay memory for the plug-in evolve into sakuyamon?
Free evo since lower than 3 cost i think
@@TheEphemeralEternity I misread, I thought it said for a 3 cost, it says it’s free if the digi is a 3 cost or less for evo
@@RangerMacDanger mhm. 3 or less is way more useful. Tbh i think the sakuyamon deck is objectively better due to how consistent it looks and how much memory you get back. D reaper needs more setup but still looks amazingly fun if you get it off.
That Plug in allow evolution that is cost 3 or less. so it is a free cost as long as the card that you evo meets the card condition.
@@TheEphemeralEternity but in reality the sakuyamon deck has major consistency problems, the deck is so inconsistent it barely topped in the Japanese format
And the few times it did were in very small tourneys where they manage to pull the combo as seen in the video which is very highroll, you got to have the right plugins and sakuyamon(which is so prone to being bot decked when searching) and it’s not normal to have 2 rikas on the field even if u did , if u didnt have the either one of the 3 things mentioned the deck does nothing
what digimon card is that next to green plug in?
Wouldn’t Sakuyamon -10,000 to gatekeeper not work? The gatekeepers would have 16,000 because of the searchers under the mother D-Reaper correct?
Searcher's dp+1000 only for his own/my turn, not opponent/all turn
bro that turn around caught me so off guard
that unsuspend wasnt once per turn :o
Yo that Renamon line art is FIRE! ❤️
Jesus Fucking Christ that D-Reaper! No wonder everyone fears its arrival!
What a comeback thanks for sharing
Remember the old Digimon World game for PS1? I loved that game
That background music is fire I only watch the videos with that background music TBH
Does protag always win? Prob a dumb question lol
i want to buy some of the sleeves you using in your videos but can't find any store selling anything close here T_T
Just started playing Digimon with a friend and I am looking into the D-reaper decks
Crazy ending, and happy to see this content!
What theme song is this?
Megalomachia2 OST
Setzer - Escape from the Nightmare
@@GoGoIkuzo you’re the goat. Thank you.
For a moment I forgot that one searched was sent to the trash from security, that gave Protagonist 8 Searched to swing 5 times with Reaper.
