so much fun in those days....I can remember when we rehearsed this number. Didn't see that fabulous dress until show time. OMG beautiful. Earl Palmer on drums really rocked it.

I loved her! Still do. Sad that people may not know her now. I wish they could stream these shows. Variety shows. Maybe thats why I never got into American idol or others because these shows really went all out. Lola was the best.
I saw this when it was intially broadcast during her stint doing a summer replacement. I've told people over the years about the dress that danced with her as she sang. Thank you for posting this. I've been vindicated and it's a great rendition of a classic beautiful presented.
Yes! Me too. I 2as about 13 or so. I loved lola and this blew me away. I've mentioned this to others as well over the years. She was such a performer. So tonight I thought about and thought maybe I'd find it on RUclips. So glad to see it again. Her outfits were part of the performance. I'm so happy I saw again.
I can just imagine and see Fred Sanford freaking right tf out, while watching this performance. That reeling he did when she kissed him, on his show! It was hilarious!! She was a GREAT singer, though. So, his taste wasn't always "off". 🤪😁
I have been binge watching Lola...I need my sleep...

For me, Falana is in a class higher than Whitney Houston.
Bro what. They not even the same type of entertainers.
Whitney was way more famous
