    Hey Rob, can't tell you how much I am enjoying the tour. I was born and raised in Warren, Pa about 38 miles from Titusville, Pa so the drive up through the snowy two lane road which I am guessing was route 8 sure brought home to me. I have lived in Florida for the past 42 years and I am retired now but get home to Pennsylvania every summer for a visit. In 1999 I got to tour the Case knife plant in Bradford Pa and they treated me like a king. Went through every aspect of building a case knife and even let me assemble one. It was a real treat for me as I have over 200 case knives in my collection. Nothing really old but I enjoy them. Looking forward to part 2, thanks for bringing us along.

    Fantastic job Brother Rob! That is the very BEST tour of GEC's showroom I have ever seen on youtube. Much thanks to Chris Tucker of GEC as well......Chris, you did a wonderful job with Rob here, and GEC wouldn't be the same without you Dear! I always enjoy calling and talking to Chris, as she is always so helpful and friendly. Well, thanks to Rob, I am labeled as "a crazy man"......LOL.......and you are RIGHT!!! I just love these knives, what they stand for, and all the folks associated with them. I can hardly wait for the next episode. Nobody does it as well as you do Rob.....THANKS BROTHER!!! :-)

    What an amazing tour. It's awesome to see how far a company can go making traditional folders in this modern era. The more I see and handle them, the more I love them. thanks Rob

    Forget the popcorn and ice tea. This was a riveting historical and contemporary look at knives and the company that makes them great. Thanks for the "up close and personal" Rob.

      Stand Straight Thanks, buddy! This series is probably for a pretty small audience, but I opted to include about everything except bloopers. I figure that small audience wants to see every detail ;)

    Another good one brother. I talk to the lady when I talked to her about my lock back having blade play never ask me any questions. just gave me mailing instructions and when I got the knife back it was solid as a rock and still is after 6-7 months. Keep the videos coming and may the blessings. of our Lord be upon you all. Randy.

    Some beautiful knives in those cases...talk about kid in a candy store lol. I'm a 'modern folder guy' but traditionals are kind of fascinating - looking forward to the in-depth on the manufacturing.

    Really enjoyed that and as I said there is nothing like holding and feeling a knife, before you buy it (Pre-Internet). :)
    Although, one did catch my eye towards the end of the video .. :)

    Awesome rob.can't wait for the other vids to post. Even though I have not yet got a traditional knife. I'm thinking one is going to be my next purchase. Can you recommend one for me. I really want one with a wharncliff or sheeps foot. Nothing fancy. But one that I can use. And possibly force patina. Don't really like natural scales. They look nice. Just not for me. I absolutely love watching videos like this. Blade hq just did one with spyderco. And am looking forward to the second one.

    You are quite the salesman, brother! I'm ready to buy two or three of these already! Is that what you do at the dealership by chance?

    • @TheApostleP

      LibertyNotLicense I manage a dealership for a living, but the salesman in me does come out at times. Not that GEC knives need much salesmanship ;)

    Thanks for the interesting video. Exactly what is it about their lockback knives they've gotten better at?

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  9 лет назад

      John B They have had issues over the years, especially in the 23 and 73 patterns, for vertical blade play. The last few runs have been much better. To be fair, this is a characteristic that really wasn't a concern in traditional knives for decades, until "modern folder" guys made it an issue.

    I can’t stand gec. I hate not being able to get a knife for less than 5 times what it’s worth. I’ve handled a few that didn’t belong to me and I was very underwhelmed. Big hype and bigger disappointment.
