Agreed. The way I look at it is the OG releases are beckoning you into a mysterious new world, and the updated rereleases are welcoming back an old friend.
I love atlus but I litterally hate everytime they make a definitive edition. Like they axe their more artsy intros then change the battle theme. I wouldve preferred they at least left a "classic" option when they do this.
I suppose it makes sense though, a lot of people that have already do played the game, will already know the story when playing the remaster, so the mystery is sort of lost. Therefore, I assume atlus just said screw it and make it more energetic

P2IS, P2EP, P3P, and P3FES all kept the original battle themes and openings, hell P2IS and P2EP specifically had music toggles so you could switch the soundtrack to the PSX version
Because there’s no point in it really, since they’re released with the idea that you’ve already played the original. Golden’s opening is designed to just show you the new content they added
