  • My first time using the Savage Gear 3D Burbot today and so far I'm impressed. I didn't have the best hook/land ratio but this bait has potential. This bait currently has 1 treble hook but I plan on adding one more to improve with hook ups.

    I always found that odd that a fish will strike something with colors like that. A person would think that it would have to look exactly like the minnow or baitfish that they feed on instead of clown colored lure. I guess it’s something different that makes them strike.

      Yup. Sometimes you can see where the hooks are positioned outside of the fishes mouth but the big one I missed was completely my fault. I saw it strike my lure so my instinct was to set the hook strong and upwards but that just pulled the lure out of the fishes mouth. I should’ve have swiped hook set to my left

    • @Road_Rash
      @Road_Rash 3 года назад +3

      That's true of course...but a couple of those completely engulfed that lure...I need to get some of those btw...even a brand new lure straight out of the package can use sharpening...I bought a hook sharpener a few years ago & started sharpening all my hooks & get a lot fewer misses these days...doesn't have to be fancy or expensive to get the job done & just a few seconds of honing will result in more fish in the boat...I love the footage, but I'd have to watch it later personally, it's probably easy to anticipate the strike & pull the lure out of the fish's mouth if you're watching him hit it I would think...I know I tend to get really excited when they start biting...I'm thinking watching it like that would get me really antsy...Lol!
