How do you afford such a nice apartment as a teacher and with your husband having medical school debt and still studying? Does your state just have super affordable apartments??
it depends on your personality i think. if youre more of a bubbly and likes a consistent routine person, than id choose teaching. if youre more of a tough love and very deeply emapthetic person but can deal with depressing things almost all day, youd like social work. like if you can handle really tough situations constantly without breaking down its good for you, but if you just want more of a positive and comforting environment id say teaching. obviously teaching can get depressing too when kids open up about hard situation and you have to call a social worker, but thats not the teachers whole day. i would weigh out these pros and cons and values and really assess how it works for you as a person if youre trying to choose whether to go into teaching or social work. however both are incredibly impactful and needed jobs and do a lot in the long run.
