No. Cruise control belongs on the steering wheel. I do not insult clients by taking calls while I am driving. I go to symphonies for music, restaurants for champagne (rarely), gym for workouts, therapists for massage. I buy cars for driving - motion - and I use cruise control a lot. Put the CC on the steering wheel. People who do put the cruise controls where they belong are: Rolls, BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, Jaguar, Toyota, Corvette, Mustang, and many others. Only the idiots at VW (Porsche and Bentley) do not. If you're buying a super-sports-car for track and road feel and drifting maybe you don't want a CC at all, but for a luxury automobile built for cruising, or for a daily driver, CC is a great convenience. F1 cars load their wheels with controls for a reason: they're all right at the driver's fingertips and he does not have to take his hands off the wheel and hunt for them.
