    Kauthuvam comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Kauttukam’ meaning praise and Natesha stands for Lord Nataraja. This dance is usually performed in the beginning of a Bharatanatyam performance. This dance is performed in the praise of the one who is worshipped of the one who is worshipped by both Rishis and Asuras, the one who performs the cosmic dance named as Tandava, the one whose ornaments are the sun and the moon and whose vahana is bhagavan Nandi...Oh Lord Shiva!
