Smash Tip of the Day: in order to cover space efficiently, you gotta learn to use your movement.
if your character has good ground mobility, you gotta space your moves as safely as possible, and utilize your dash to either bait unsafe attacks or cover defensive options. if you have good aerial mobility, then utilize your air time, and your aerial attacks in the same way.
both will help you to open up your opponents a lot of the time, as long as you're patient
