My island home.😀 so looking forward to this.
Does a stamp of French Island exist in Australia Post-office? Do you have sometimes specific postal mark on letter sent from French Island? Thank you
Wow that’s cool. I been there before. One day I want to buy the island.
Looks like a magical place!
Love this! How inspiring. It is interesting that we used to call an off gridder a hippie back in the day. Now everyone wants to do it! We love our off grid life too.
Now we HAVE to because of the state of our planet’s climate
I was there for eco tourism studies in 2009. Its an amazing slice off off grid land. So close to Melbourne, and yet so beautifully remote.
This is my dream that will come true one day, 👍
Someone loves their Cooper's red
We need to get solar and wind powering all public infrastructure.
I agree. Get involved because things don't just happen on their own.
Most people on French island have diesel generators as well because battery power doesn’t all get the job done
@@theshauny Thanks, absolutely spot on speaking from direct experience.
Love the solar powered car ferry to get there.
That’s funny 👍🏻
I miss there
Why is this island called "French Island"? What is the relationship with France?
Another French colony I suppose
I heard name it explained watching full episode on ABCiview.
The island was named in 1802 by a French scientific expedition on board the ship, L'Naturaliste. This team circumnavigated the island and named it Isle des Francais. English settlers called it French Island.
Good way to live, but harder I think, when you age
Oh! so that Gas BBQ is also solar powered is it?
Lots of alcohol bottles for off the gird!! LOL!!
Huge opportunity for someone to start reusing those empties for home brew on the island, you'd have to think.
@@timmydownawellpeople thinking? Rarity nowadays
Do you need Eco citizen passport to live there since it's self governed?
all white people wow :)
Interesting race is all you get out of this.
