i actually like this version of overdue more. i think his vocal delivery is a bit more raw, slightly more attitude and i think the full voiced high notes on the chorus part work better then the even more fallsetto chorus of the studio version though i know thats his signiture vocal style.
The first time I heard these songs was live. My band was playing support to them in a little pub in Torquay in 1995! 😩 You could tell even then that they were going to be incredible.
@@2_fast_4_Yu I’m 43, so was 14 when we played support. Not bragging but I was a good drummer even at that age, so got to play with them a little earlier than most. They were so good though. Lovely guys too.
@@2_fast_4_Yu I actually spent my 18th birthday at Sawmills Studio in Cornwall. Thats where they recorded this EP and a fair bit of other stuff. Dennis Smith who managed them for years was interested in signing my band so let us record our demo there. Unfortunately they got singed to Maverick Records around the same time, so Dennis couldn’t take on any more artists. We were gutted but it was a fantastic experience. Lots of incredible artists recorded there in the 90’s; Oasis, The Prodigy, Supergrass etc. unbelievable studio.
@@2_fast_4_Yu The first song I ever saw them play live was coma. They did it for soundcheck. I remember being blown away by how accomplished they were at such a young age. Matt was just so comfortable and controlled in his playing, and his voice was unreal.
they're not demo's. these 4 songs & 6 others were recorded professionally at Sawmills Studio with a producer for this debut EP..... the other 6 songs had official releases as Showbiz b-sides.
This short little tester album actually came out before Showbiz, MUSE's first studio album. This album is the MUSE EP, and it was made in 1998. Showbiz a year later. They didn't add the parts we all know and love today until Showbiz.
@@eye_man I believe what the first comment meant was the part that starts at 2:15 with this lyrics : *"we really need to change it and turn it over.."* which was not included in Showbiz album version
@@ippotskAbsolutely Not!!!!!!!! Maybe maybe just just a little, Muse is totally different from RadioHead Perhaps Matt Voice is Extremely Similar to Thom Yorke Voice Perhaps Matthew Voice and mine are Falsetto with Much more Body rather than more aired like Thom Yorke.
If not for "Coma," this EP could have been called Angsty Incel Anthems Vol. 1. But "Coma" has a completely different energy. It's fun, inspired, and kicks ass without taking itself too seriously. Muse's first sign of greatness. 🥂🎶🎉
I love the raw sound of their demos and early stuff.
Yes, oldschool)

I'm so glad to hear this on YT again. Thank you 💖
As a recording debut, the evaluation is very positive
I’ve still got my hand numbered original version of this that I bought in Torquay
Wow. That's very lucky as only 999 copies were originally released, that's very rare.
So amazing, I love how these demos sound

2 minutes , 2 minutes 40, should be Muse Future, its so beautiful
Anyone have any idea why they removed the bridge of Overdue?

@@rdm_sf It just really comes down to the final cut
Probably because Fillip has a similar bridge
The best version of cave
So this is the first EP Muse album?
Released by a label, yes
I just cant believe he wrote all that stuff with 19 dude.
I have to say fetus matt does sound like Mr. Yorke from Radiohead
this whole EP sounds kinda like The Bends or Pablo Honey.
Lol

why does matt sound like rivers cuomo on this version of escape lol that's amazing

Ohhhhhhhh My Heart
💕💞💖
Why isn’t it on Spotify 😢 ?
it literally is
Maybe in your country. I personally don’t have it on Spotify
@@-NIRN- It's because all of these songs are on showbiz or on an EP.
Listen to Muse without distorted bass is weird
Muse didn't have much distorted bass in the first album
