The unusual thing about gem apples in Super is that once you spend 60 dollars (the threshold for max tree size), the game will warn you buying more won't be worth it every time you enter the premium store. It goes from trying to persuade you to spend more money to trying to persuade you to just wait things out for more apples.
TKCD outright stops you from buying them after $40, if I remember correctly. It is super weird that SKC doesn't stop you in the same vein, just says "you shouldn't... Buuuuuuuut... "
5:19 Klaire got so distracted thinking about headpats that she forgot where she was in the script. Not sure if that was an accidental double line read or if it was intentional, but the particular line it happened on makes it super funny.
I have a deep soft spot for Kirby Clash. It's very fun! I have, admittedly, dumped nearly a full game's worth of real dollars into Kirby Clash Deluxe because the game basically hard-paywalls you halfway through after getting you hooked, but at least the game was fun enough that I felt like I got a full game out of it. I managed to get through Super Kirby Clash without any money spent and most challenges cleared, though, so I will consider my fiscal sins atoned for.
That would not be the case if SKC didnt make you wait a while after fighting a few bosses without using the gem apples which are also microtransactions 😶 And a small reminder that SKC is also a spinoff to temporarily feed the fans something before the next kirby game and sadly most spinoffs will never get the same amount of love as other kirbo games 😔
Even beyond the aggressive microtransactions, I just don't like how Kirby feels in these Kirby Clash games, it feels like Kirby put weights in his shoes, it feels sluggish, and having no option to turn off the teams also is a bummer, I just don't like working with AI companions in Kirby games, being able to fight these bosses solo would've been nice.
I'm struggling to keep up with all the Klaire iterations and arch nemeses this Kirby Month has brought to light, the Flufflelore, if you will... :3 As someone who just doesn't play online games, as well as someone who is naturally very leery of games with microtransactions, Super Kirby Clash certainly wasn't the most egregious example of a game built around in-game monetisation. If the game remains viable after the Switch's inevitable online services demise, then it can at least stand head-and-shoulders above all of those other games destined for oblivion when their service providers cease hosting said games. I'd also wager there aren't many free-to-play games with a legit established speedrun - free-to-play games generally don't want you rushing anything without spending more of your hard earned gamer groats. Have I said _games_ enough yet? ;p
On the bright side, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe (the 3DS version) no longer has online, and that speedrun didn't require online at all either! So I think this game will be fine, albeit losing one of its most fun features, once the online goes off.
Kirby is so cool I wish free things were real
LONG LIVE ANARCHY
It is free if you're willing to have a Black Beard.

Definitely an accident but if it was funny then it was on purpose

Super Kirby Clash is way easier (and more fun) to clear without money spent. It's super fun!
So this is the famous "free" everyone is talking about...
So called free thinkers when their thinking is free:
its Sad That Super Kirby Clash Doesn't get More Love than the other Kirby Games!

Hammer is stiff but the others feel about normal. Sword is a lot faster too, actually! Pretty neat.
