Hey Hun! I'm looking for some help, can you tell me if you've tried the Thrustmaster T598 with ACC or Assetto Corsa 1 and how it felt? And did you run into any troubles with the wheel on GT7 because the wheel isn't officially supported by GT7 yet? Like with remapping buttons?
Hey there, I’m not Hun but I own this wheel too. I really like the force feedback of the wheel. It’s strong and can deliver 5nm all the time. I find it way more detailed than the GT DD Pro from Fanatec. However there are downsides: The standard wheel included is very cheap and doesn’t feel nice. It uses plastic and rubber for the grips. So I would recommend buying a different rim. I would recommend the Hypercar wheel. The second problem I’ve had with the T598 wheel base is the temperature when using it for 2h+. Temperatures above 50°C are common. GT7 recognises it as a Thrustmaster TGT/TGT2. So you can just map the buttons like you would on a TGT without having any problems. Hope that helps!
@KreativerName-e9l thanks very much!! I really appreciate all this info, helps me decide if I should upgrade it myself! Have you tried it with ACC or Assetto Corsa on PC? Did it feel good?
@@timwhitman3207 I’ve tried it with both AC and ACC on PC and it felt really good. It’s not like your typical direct drive wheel because it uses a different type of direct drive technology. But for that part I would recommend watching a dedicated video about it. It almost feels like 7-8nm. I would recommend buying it if you are doing races around the length of 2-3h. If you have the possibility of using a fan to cool it down further, than 5-6h shouldn’t be too big of a problem. As mentioned in my previous comment, the standard wheel is just cheap and I don’t really like the ergonomics of it. There is no cushioning at the grips so it may get uncomfortable after 2h. If you got 400 extra bucks laying around than go with the hypercar wheel. It’s just so much better.
@KreativerName-e9l thanks again for all the great recommendations and information! I really appreciate your help and time! Unfortunately budget for a new wheel is tight, so nearly doubling the cost of the wheel is too much at the moment. But I appreciate the advice, maybe I can upgrade someday to the hypercar wheel. Thanks again!
Hey! I haven’t tried it much on ACC, it seemed to connect fine, but overall, the feedback was hit and miss. Need to find a good setup for it to really try it. AC I haven’t tried it on unfortunately. Mapping button works fine on GT7 for me.
