Suzanna Meagher I was at IMS for the Brickyard 400 and the rain only lasted for like 30 minutes then it took 2 hours to dry the track. It sucked. But that race took FOREVER!!! But happy to see Kahne win!
Much agreed, Keith. I think it's more than that though. I was talking to a friend recently about the shift of the current gen where things that had entertained many a generation have fallen off because they aren't electronic or are solely produced for the ADD generation. I used to be in publishing and weathered the shift to ebooks for awhile, but people don't read much anymore. Books were the cinema of the mind, and boy does it show that people have shied away from such analog enrichment. I greatly suspect that cars going round and round doesn't peak the interests of the mentally dubious. Add: After further thought, perhaps its the lack of 'good ole' boy-ness' that has alienated the die-hards as well.
I'm a long time big Nascar fan and it's still as popular as ever. Daytona 500 and small tracks are still near sold out. I didn't like the new play off system at first but I've come to appreciate how it ramped up the end season competition. Nascar rocks!
Ray Charlebois I do agree it's still sold out at some of the races and I am also a long time Nascar fan. Now they have made some weird changes because they didn't want another death. The problem is that the last person to die in a crash was Dale Earnhardt back in 2001. So they are making unnecessary changes
The funny thing is someone gave free tickets to my friends dad, he already had tickets so he gave the extra tickets to me and my mom. My first nascar race. I'm sooooo excited!!!!!!!
bayabori it was my first NASCAR race too! I had a blast and stayed till the end. The military stuff was awesome and real good racing (minus Larson blowing a tire) My seats were at the entrance of pit road 24 rows up and could see everything except Lynyrd Skinnard
I was at the ford G section row 12, I couldn't complain, so awesome and my lady loved it also... The military was just awesome, the whole experience i enjoyed. I will be attending more races for sure.. This might be an annual one for me..
bayabori to be exact my seats were Toyota C row 24. I went with the old man this was his 3rd race he went to Daytona and Pocono in the past but said Charlotte was the best and we will attend in the future. We might give Michigan a chance in August because I just had a blast at that NASCAR race. I think it just beats out sprint car races
I'm from New Jersey and was working my way south to Myrtle Beach for vacation, so this race worked perfect as we drove down, love the South... Whoever doesn't like Coca-cola 600 isn't human, atmosphere was incredible..

Who would want to sit and watch pace laps all day? I wouldn’t. That’s y I think commercials r nice now. But when your there in person it takes AGES for a restart to go green. But I get your point. There r too many but some r nice here and there.
Kyle Busch gets the first stage but he is being in this stage maybe that is an opportunity for the Earnhardt's and number 10 to get in the lead for the next stage.
If any male driver turned in Danica Patrick's performance, they would not be back the next season. No team would hire them. She is consistently awful, crashes out more than any other driver, is ALWAYS a lap or two behind when she manages not to crash out. She's got a ride in Nascar for one reason....we need a woman driver for PC "check that diversity box" reasons. There may be a woman driver out there that can be a cup champion one day...but it will never be Danica. Good in a bikini, but crap on the track.
Great race, thanks for posting...Shouts from Mainz, Germany!!!
Race starts at 24:14
I was at the race, and omg I was so tired, the rain delay was 1 hour and 25 minutes. It finished at 1:30...
Suzanna Meagher I was at IMS for the Brickyard 400 and the rain only lasted for like 30 minutes then it took 2 hours to dry the track. It sucked. But that race took FOREVER!!! But happy to see Kahne win!
What a finish! Hard luck for Jimmy Johnson but Austin drove like a fuel saving god! Earnhardt would be proud to see that No 3 in V lane again!
The NASCAR University segments were interesting. I really enjoyed the blooper segment
It's kind of sad that Nascar is not nearly as popular as it once was
Simon Czarnota it's because they added rules that are strange
Keiths Keen Edge true

Awesome race really unlucky for Chase Elliot and Danica Patrick and Kyle Busch really enjoy the race
So much better than last year's 600!
MegaMr46 No, because one driver didn't lead 390 laps and there was actually passing.
Correction, it was 392 laps.
I was there. It was really fun minus the rain
Noah Benscoter I was there also, first time ever at a Nascar race and the whole environment was so awesome stayed till the end just about 1250 am.
bayabori it was my first NASCAR race too! I had a blast and stayed till the end. The military stuff was awesome and real good racing (minus Larson blowing a tire) My seats were at the entrance of pit road 24 rows up and could see everything except Lynyrd Skinnard

If you pause at 2:40:00 you can see a rear wheel where they only glued up 4 lug nuts and only hit 3 of them

Well she’s retiring. She has only the Daytona 500 and the Indy 500 left in her career.
