GREAT, informative video!!! AND funny too!!! I love this guy!!! He's got a sense of humor and no dumb, loud music in the video!!! Cant wait to see more!!!! : )
Great video series. I just bought a 2004 Vulcan Classic 1500. The clutch is slipping when it gets hot. I know that's the clutch fluid and slave cylinder, but if I need to do the full clutch, I may try (with a friend) to do it myself as that doesn't look very hard at all. Shop said if I needed new clutch it would be around $700 to $800. I'm hoping to get it done much cheaper myself.
I did not see you check the clutch release operation before replacing the chrome cover. Did you pump the lever and watch the plates move? How much clearance will it have fanned open? Mine shows 1.4 mm using feeler gauges.
You video was super helpful for me today, but as I was removing the screws from the cover I didnt realize they were different lengths, and now I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones go where! Could you please help!!??
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. In my 96 D model, the clutch slips only when it's cold. As soon as it reaches operating temperature it works just fine. Any suggestions?

I watched your video several times before trying it and everything happen and was as you said. I was very comfortable going into this project. My only problem is when I went to test it out my clutch wont disengage with the clutch lever. What did I do wrong?
Thank you very much. Your video are excellent. However i am having trouble ordering the clutch plates. I pulled off 7 but when i look at ordering they only account for 4? Can you help me
hey old man great video. i just install a new clutch kit in my 99 vulan nomad . but i have a problem ,the bike wants to move forward when clutch leaver is pull all the way in.. did i done something wrong ?
Old Mac. I was wondering if you can answer a question. When I release the clutch to the bike, the motorcycle wants to jump forward and for some reason it also stalls out sometimes. The lever is too soft also. I have a 2001 Kawasaki 1500e classic. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you. Randy.
I didn't think to check before I put it back together but now my clutch lever is tight and it will shift gears without using the clutch. Any thoughts on what could be the issue?
Hi Old mechanic , I have a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan nomad 1500 as well , decided to replace clutch plates , everything went smooth , according to your video , now I can’t get the clutch big nut off , try everything from air impact gun , rust penetrating lubricant , breaking bar wish about the way stuck my clutch rod and finally the candle 🕯 melting on it , nothing works so far any ideas o f how to get this done , I will appreciate it much , thanks Orlando .
Hi there , old mechanic, I figured out my torque wrench had fail , after fail attempts, finally my brother in-law came Over with his 24 volts torque wrench and did the trick , I can’t believe after many approaches, finally the nut is loose and I’m in the process replace old plates with new ones , my piece of advice , is don’t matter how experience you have sometimes the tricks of the all school works , this case , the torque , I had exhausted old school acknowledge and it all came down to hood torque wrench , Cobalt 24 volts and a 27 mm socket , my advice, on this take , not always things go the way you picture , my philosophy, thanks for your videos who’s inspired me on the take of the Kawasaki Vulcan clutches replacement.👍
@@TheOldMechanic , yes from the beginning I had used the impact gun but , impact gun was not working properly so a friend brought Cobalt impact gun and it took few seconds and it came loose , I had try it min first gears and I was still spinning , let’s hope nothing mess up , waiting for the gasket for the exhaust and cover to arrive , I decided also to order the Kawasaki cover gasket as you said it it I had the first one from Amazon and changes are is going to leak so my bets are on the Kawasaki gasket , so can’t go any further until them , thanks again for you very clear and detailed video.👍
I meant the Kobalt impact gun ,sorry , I had used the breaking bar after failing few times so the hub started to spin-off hopefully nothing got damage as I said .
So I did notice something…. The cover is not interested far enough to expose the groove that the ring inserts into…. After I got the nut on and then the rod with the bearing on it I noticed it isn’t going in all the way do u know why?
I just completed a clutch replacement on my Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan. Was it hard, yes but I did it and after watching your video as you said why not. Thank you so much because you saved me a lot of money and headaches. Your video was excellent!! Thanks Again, Stephen Entrekin 😊
Great video lots of useful an helpful information however the view an example of how those 3 clutch limiter is not real visible as to how you set . Not your fault however I bent mine as I got frustrated an forced it on incorrectly 🤦♂️
Hi Joseph, I think I used these symbols In my video: ( ) thats the way those springs have to go in. Please have a look at my video again and as I allways note, don't skip any part of it, as you could mis an important part. And a tip..Never get frustrated..if it doesn't go well just leave it and sleep over it, and try the next day mate. 😉👍🤛🏍

Vraagje .
Thanks for heads ups on slacking the plates in oil bath before assembling 😅

Thanks so much for the excellent video. I am about to undertake the exact thing, and will undoubtedly rewatch this a couple more times. Wish me luck.

I’m have a hard time getting the spring bolt to lock into the shaft. You made it look easy, any recommendations?
Hi Perfection, its a bit tricky as all the parts has to be perfect in place, I know. But keep your cool and just give it another go mate.
Awesome, is it the same torque specs for a Vulcan classic 1600?

I had to relieve pressure from the slave cylinder to install the final cover and retainer spring.

Did you get the answer to this?
How long did you soak the clutch plates
Hi Aron, they stood overnight, but I gues an hour orso would be good.
