Ceri! Thank you for responding to a fellow artist who needed an encouraging word! I am one of YOUR followers! How that must have made her day, to be encouraged by YOU! So kind of you. Darcy, New subscriber here.🙃
I swear some people give a thumbs down because it makes them feel more powerful - they just get something out of putting other people down. It kinda is an indication of where they are functioning. My question is always, "why do they watch?" If you don't like it, move to the next channel! We watch you because we like you and we like your work, inspirations, instructions, etc.! And, by the way, lucky you to have Ceri Griffiths as a friend! 😊
Those are absolutely gorgeous, Darcy!! They look amazing against the collaged paper and stamps you used. Praying that your surgery goes well. Happy New Year!
Some great ephemera you’ve created Darcy, it’s so inspiring to watch you, I learn something different every day! Some people don’t appreciate art when they see it Darcy, don’t let their negativity hurt you, thousands love you and the videos you so kindly share with us. Prayers and thoughts for a quick recovery. ❤😊
Great video Darcy! Love me some ephemera, and that book is an awesome find! I’m inspired by the way you used your stencils to overlap from the picture onto the rest of the page to tie it all together.
Enjoyed this video for sure, I crafted along making Ephemera from my collaged papers as well. Trying to use up them Tim Holtz paperdolls. But I need to do more stamping 123 never tried it, will go back to the pieces I made and do some stamping tfs 😊
Darcy, I love that you have no fear about using things you have…I can’t seem to use some of the old books I’ve purchased because the teacher in me doesn’t tear up books! 😂 I thank you so much for sharing your process-it is so inspiring to me and your explanation helps me know why you do what you do! ❤ Trish
I usually get well worn paperbacks. I was taught to respect books. I have Stampington magazines that look like they’ve never been opened. I don’t allow finger licking to flip pages or bending or flattening the spine. My husband gets through reading the paper and it looks like a tornado blew it around.
I’m a retired school librarian, and I admit that I have some qualms when I cut things out of old books, but I tell myself I’m giving them a second life.
Hi Darcy, I fussy tear as well, looks good. Don’t be concerned about a negative thumb, you are a true artist, love what you do, thanks for the conversation and a fun video. God bless ❤ , have a Happy New Year. Oh yes, I’ve finally subscribed 😊 take care
Love watching your videos, you just go for it! I take too long choosing things etc. Please dont worry about dislikes, your likes far outweigh them. Good luck with your surgery will be thinking of you 🫂 xx
HAHAHAHA 😂 Re: Likes and Dislikes...I have a hater, they dislike every video of mine that they see...it's just one person LOL I have a whole list of videos with just one dislike -- it makes me chuckle SO MUCH that someone is that upset about my silly videos that they devote their time to giving my videos a thumbs down LOL LOL 😝 Gotta agree with you to not look at your stats! 😆 We love you so don't worry about the haters! 💜 Huge hugs to a quick recovery and successful surgery! 💕
Hi Darcy, I'm so glad you shared this with us! I just got a book with flowers and plants that would be almost impossible to fussy cut, and this inspires me to do this with that book! As far as that stamp with the straight lines, could you maybe knick the line in a couple of places to distress it and make it broken lines? Would that help? I hope you have a Very Happy and Blessed New Year!
I'm glad this was helpful. ♥️ I was thinking of doing just that with the stamp. Maybe just on one edge. The other edge is usually on the edge of a page anyway.
@DarcysMixedMedia I hope that works for you! I think it will look good just didn't know exactly what you're going for. Have a very Happy New Year's Eve@
I just made that comment under Ceri’s response. I had done it just before watching this video ….but I caught the mistake and changed it to thumbs up….i just don’t know how it affects the algorithm, if it does.
Hopefully, I won't be gone long. Doc thinks I'll be able to do things soon after getting home (that should be Saturday). I've had doctors say there won't be much pain only to have intense pain after procedures so I don't have a lot of faith in their presumptions.
Darcy don’t worry about dislikes, I get them but the likes far outweigh them………we can’t please everyone.
Thank you, my friend 🩵
Great advice. I get them, too. My channel is small, so it bothers me….BUT the likes far outweigh the dislikes.

Thanks, Trish. Patricia (P.M. Artist Studio) also can't bring herself to tear up books, but she'll use pages someone else tore out.

Darcy you are a delight to watch! Your creativity is amazing and soo inspiring. Wishing you a safe and speedy recovery🥰
Thank you so much!
First video of yours I have seen. Love it!
Love this! Found the little book on Amazon but one needs to specify the tiny edition. Thank you!
Lol, yes, the listing should have specified. ♥️
This little book is cute and I like how you fussy cut only some part of the image. Beautiful ephemera☺
Thanks so much! 😊
Uniqua and Pablo were my favorite Backyardigans

Much prefer fussy tearing ... though I did like the piece your partially fussy cut, that was a cute idea! Thanks 🩶💜🤍
♥️
Very nice, and hugs!🎉🎉🎉
Thanks ♥️
How fortuitous your video popped on my radar bc I have that little Audubon book, so thanks! 🐦
Awesome sauce!
This is a great idea- I hate fussy cutting!
I truly enjoy your creative style. Wishing you a complete recovery
Thanks so much ♥️
As a famous painter used to say "No Mistakes just happy accidents"....lol 🤙❤

🤣🤣🤣
The fun fact is, dislikes help your channel to grow, because it's interaction, the algorithm likes that 🤣

You r good as gold. Dislikes count in the youtube stats & likely a new user hitting the wrong button or a competitor.
Thanks ♥️
❤❤
I think your dislikes are people who accidentally hit the wrong button!
Usually, I assume that, but one video had 3 dislikes. I might rewatch that one because there might be a valid reason for that one. 😉
I just made that comment under Ceri’s response. I had done it just before watching this video ….but I caught the mistake and changed it to thumbs up….i just don’t know how it affects the algorithm, if it does.
@robingoff322 I think yt just considers it all "interaction."
I’d give you more thumbs 👍 on each video if I could 😂❤ I’m gonna miss ya when you’re recovering ❤️🩹

I’m not fond of fussy cutting.
