Traditionally, horizontal progression is when you get an increase in options instead of an increase in power. So like, instead of getting a sword with 20 more damage, it’s a sword that does a slightly different mechanic than the other sword you have, but the damage is the same.
I would argue this is vertical progression tbh.

I'm pretty sure he said close to the beginning of the video it is something you'll be doing every season.
You don't "have to", and you got months to do it. Unless you're planning on playing the game every single day this content will not matter to you.
Really hoping you still make D3 vids after D4 is out, or at least for as long as Blizz still supports the game with new CR's and seasons. Thanks to PS+ bullshit I won't be joining you in D4 Rax.

A question I haven't got a solid answer on. Let's say I start a seasonal character. I progress and I end up unlocking all 5 sets of perks for a zone and max renown for that area. When the next season starts, does all that renown I earned stay with my new character or does it reset?
You should pull a Diablo Immoral move on this one as well.

I'd imagine this renown system will be account wide including transfers over to season, having to re grind renown every season would be gay a fuck

I’m at level 37 & never even opened up the renown portion. I’m assuming I got a bunch of stuff that I’ve yet to use.
I honestly have no idea what I’m doing & just following the main quest lol I’m so souls game guy so these types of rpg are new to mw
I've yet to see anyone talk about stash, stash space etc is this just a thing of the past? Kinda hoping we get microtransactions to extend space if it's not huge like PoE.

How does the typical starting of the game go and town etc. any footage of merchants etc. inventory stash etc?!
A good system. Falls under the general guideline of making replay-ability nicer.
I wonder if the Renown gets reset for the seasons and if yes: will it be painful to refarm them.
@Raxxanterax - He's my first impression of the new structure of D4.
1) They are working hard to get rid of the linear progression of D3 so that the game doesn't get minimized to "what's the META" and most people play that, AND the game ending up being "what's your max rift"
2) They have been inspired stolen ideas from other games. The difference here, is that the vast amount of options presented to a D4 gamer, allow for a large amount of "additions" to the immersive Diablo gaming experience.
example: Renown = Attribute rewards in Cyberpunk. Use the skill. get rewarded for using the skill. Get bonuses for using the skill. (D4 devs have merely expanded what and where you can get these extra perks)
3) The sheer sophistication and versatility of builds will also prevent a "META" mentality with players, and offer long term game play.
4) They needed/wanted activities to fit into this new open world so we're not just travelling. Popup local events, and "searching" activities within the vast open world
5) They wanted/needed to get back to unique classes, so have given the gamers the ability to customize each class, and with enough choices so as to not again create META builds.
Side note: a re-structure of this magnitude is possibly going to split the playerbase.
Examples:
A) casual players don't want to be rocket scientists, but merely pew pew in the new game. It will be important for Blizzard to emphasize that they can !
It's obvious that Blizzard is trying to get players to "commit" to long term play.
B) There will be OG factions wanting D2/D3 mechanics
There will always be a meta build no matter what, no matter what there will always be someone calculating the best possible build for x piece of content which most people will follow
Hope this is not going to be pay to play.

What I REALLY want to know is what the Druid's unique class feature is... Necro gets book of the dead, Rogue has style choice + 2 weapon sets, Barbar has the Arsenal System, Sorceress has Enchant... This one thing could make or break my first character choice XDXD
It's probably something like the bonuses of your shape shifts are applied to your base character
@@Threesnap Im gonna say, not likely. A passive like that really pushes you toward shape shifting then. It will need to be something more general or something that allows you to push toward a certain style of play, I would think.
The 20 points for a dungeon, it that the first time or every time you do a dungeon.?

I wish blizzard a devs would stop giving players like yourself early access. All it does is ruin the game by having a bazillion try hard and creates homgeney within the games.
I like the "alter of litilth" statues you can find around the world. cool little things like this make the game fun
Is it confirmed you can use ALL of those 15 skill points at level 1? What if they let you use them later? For example every 3-5 levels you can "use" one extra skill point from those 15.
