    Excellent work!
    And I totally agree with you: this is a ship from a underrepresented time of naval history. But things are getting slightly better....

    Great work, Peter. I like how you don't just review the kit, but outline strategies to simplify the process or problems to avoid. Love the look of these archaic ships.
    Additionally, I appreciate how your builds show the models more or less out of the box. I'm among those that have little to no interest in buying kits for my kits. Out of the box and into the fire. In my opinion, ordering up-market PE can be a great way to both procrastinate on a build and make it too precious to start. Start building and do your best is a great way to move through a stash. Of course if someone wants additional PE, that's cool, it's their model. They can paint their battleship hot pink for all I care. If I paint mine hot pink, it's not their business either. The beauty of the hobby is there are a countless ways to approach it.

      Hi Jake
      Many thanks for your comments.
      We appear to be very much of the same mind about after-market stuff. When I review a kit I think it's important that readers know what the kit is like as it is, not with a load of (often expensive) extras added on. I like doing videos because I can be more forthright in my views through them than when I'm doing magazine work. Editors depend on advertisers for their main revenue so you have to be a bit more careful not to upset anyone!

    Excellent review & well done model of SMS Seydlitz. I would like to see more WW1 capital ships as well. HMS Tiger would be a great addition.

    Thanks for the vid rly good job with the kit. Also thanks again for inspiring me to build a warship, and that is good because I just build armoured vechiles and planes. I always thought hobby boss was trash but after watching a couple of videos and building a hobby boss kit myself I learned how stupid I was when I said hobby boss was bad. So good job and thanks for inspiring me to make model warships 😀

    Very enjoyable Peter i love my ships but i am on a limited budget and when you add the p.e and decks i see on peoples videos i end up giving up but this build really interested me so thank you . Regards Gav.

      Thanks Gav.
      I try to avoid using after-market stuff just for the sake of it. I think there's pressure now that unless a model had been built including every extra under the sun it's not a proper model. Gets down to bank balance as much as skill, which is a shame in my view. That's why I like these Hobby Boss kits. Also, I'm no fan at all of these stick-on wooden decks. They look totally artificial to me - just my personal opinion!
      Best regards
      Peter F

    That's an appropriate building review on video! Step by step explained, not too long and oversized in time request. I wanna purchase the Seydlitz too as basis for its turkish sister ship Goeben aka Yavuz Sultan.

    This looks like a good model albeit the truly clumsy deck detail. A nice looking hull shape and overall good fitting. I will be embarking on using AK burnishing fluid for tracks and wondered if you thinned yours with water as the anchor chain finish is very good. You also mentioned two applications, intresting - I've only ever read of single applications...
    Your boats are great and the replacement masts and aerial-work really adds to the realism. You are so right about less is more and the rigging is a good example.

    • @peterfearon317
      @peterfearon317  4 года назад

      Hi Gordon
      I don't thin the AK fluid. Using it twice gives a darker finish, but you have to watch it with really fine parts of it can eat them away!

      @@peterfearon317 Hi Pete, I see, I'll be looking for a lighter finish due to the alloy in tank tracks in WW2 so possibly one dip. The Panzer IV tracks do have very fine loops at the ends so I'll keep an eye on it.

    There's just no way this kit is worth its price, no matter how good a job you made of it Peter.
    It should be in the region of 30 quid.

    • @peterfearon317
      @peterfearon317  3 года назад

      Hi Anton
      Thanks for the message.
      It seems to me that kits generally are getting ridiculously expensive at the moment. I noticed the Flyhawk 1/700 Invincible is around £45, and I've just completed the Border Models 1/35 Bf - 109. This was a review model so I didn't have to pay for it, but it's just short of £70 for anyone who does. Not sure why we're being subjected to this...probably blame Covid?
