This Tengen version is accurate to the original version with 12 levels. The European version by Domark actually has a more animated intro, 16 levels and in-game music.
Yeah! I was a little bit confused when I was skipping the video and saw that “stage 13“ was called “stage 10“. I didn't know that there were originally only 12 levels... I also noticed that there is no music ^^
Prince of Persia (SEGA Genesis Longplay HD) - 0:00/52:47 Language: English USA 🇱🇷 Level 1 - 0:00 Level 2 - 06:27 Level 3 - 11:23 Level 4 - 16:11 Level 5 - 20:23 Level 6 - 24:12 Level 7 - 30:13 Level 8 - 34:18 Level 9 - 40:28 Level 10 - 44:23 Level 11 - 51:27 USA: 1994 Character The Prince - An orphan boy living on the street who falls in love with the Princess. @@607 You don't save the princess if you take longer than an hour to finish the game, ergo in getting the good ending this qualifies as not being a "long" play.
F**k yeah!! My god! Give me this classic games everyday! This is childhood! Now the kids plays almost realistic graphics on PS4, Xbox and PC, what is that? For realistic go live the life! This are awesome 8bits graphics! Leave the PS4, Xbox and PC for us, we earn it! :) Great channel man, congrats!
Beautiful graphics on Mega Drive/Genesis. The intro is gorgeous too, but from all PoP releases, SNES one got the more content and better soundtrack of all.
This is actually one of the worst ports of the game. The graphics look great and all, but the gameplay and controls were butchered and it's really easy to hurt/kill yourself unintentionally. Also, the combat is absolutely broken and lacks the depth and finesse the original game and the properly done ports had.
The graphics are nice, and other than the SNES version the game does not suffer from slowdowns and jittering. But why did they reduce the music so drasically for this port? The sound they use when you kill an enemy is just the same sound as if you die yourself. The triumphant sound which was normally used when you kill an enemy is the "level complete" sound here. Very lame! The long music originally played when you complete a level was dropped completely.
Actually, it's the Genesis version (the one shown in this video) that has no in-game music. The PAL Mega Drive version has in-game music, an updated intro and additional levels.
@@minergamer65 But the game is not the same on the two systems. The Mega Drive (PAL) version has in-game music, additional intro animations and 4 additional levels compared to the Genesis (US) version shown in this video. So technically, wrathovgod5099 is correct.
On level 4, you could have killed one extra guard. On level 5, you wasted your time going around towards the end. On level 7, you wasted your time towards the end and lost energy for nothing. Sorry, but these are glaring mistakes that should not be made by a professional.
Annoying signal noise....really long pitching. Did you plug in the audio cable correctly? Cant watch this is this how it sounded back then? The sega version look like mac version is just added some doors (that doesnt open ofc) sewers pipes and what more? Crap version I would called this. Im go back to snes version , i recommend watching macitosh version also had 3 things I dont remember from snes. The magical bridge, the white mouse and something more cool. This facking noise yikes im outta here!
3:53 you re an amateur aren't ya ! NB played POP in 96 on my IBM PC with real sounds coming out from speakers and had a CDROM and internet ! So guess I m an expert here ! Sorry pal I m not watching amateur playing
I never understood the ridiculous amount of ports this game got. Don't get me wrong, I understand that it was a very influential and perhaps somewhat revolutionary title, but almost every home computer and console (Sega 16-bit, Sega CD, Sega 8-bit, Sega Game Gear, SNES/Super Famicom, Gameboy, Lynx) got a version. You can't tell me that this title was that high in demand. Sometimes I have the idea that games just got ported to various consoles because the publisher lacked any new titles in their assortment because I don't think that some titles were that popular or good. (plenty of badly scoring games that got ports)
I think In Persia's case it's 2 things 1: It's huge reputation. 2: The ease of porting. There's only a few things moving on screen at any one time so pretty much all consoles/computers could handle it.
You’re talking about Prince of Persia. Yes, the demand was that high. And there’s even more versions of various computers (Amiga, Amstrad, ZX Spectrum and others). It was THAT popular.
This game was in high demand back then. It was a very popular game. Very popular games that have multiple owners of the IP, get multiple adaptations. It's just how it goes when you have many companies wanting to get in on the profit. Does that help you to understand now? It's always about money.
This Tengen version is accurate to the original version with 12 levels. The European version by Domark actually has a more animated intro, 16 levels and in-game music.
Huh I didn't knew that
Need to give the european version a try
Yeah! I was a little bit confused when I was skipping the video and saw that “stage 13“ was called “stage 10“.

I also noticed that there is no music ^^
Long life to World of Longplays.
👍🏻
One of my favourite childhood game 😍 love from Pakistan 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
2:15 one of the most beatiful things i've ever seen in sega genesis
Man, this revived so many great memories of childhood. Simpler times much happier times.
And BAM, right back to my old PC gamer days. Wow does this bring back memories.
The princess is really pretty in this version
I dont remember getting very far into this game
Ever
I was only a kid but...yeah I loved it
All that work for the nice view at 51:52.
it's better than some of the other versions at least
Thiccy
Nice ass. Prince gonna feast on that
Something I really, REALLY dislike about this version is that most of the sounds are not used correctly.

Platforming, a core gameplay mechanic in Prince of Persia.
The part after we join with the Prince's reflex is broken on this version, we must jump to 3 tiles away to make the floors apear on the bridge...
BETTER GAME FOREVER!
It looks and sounds like the Genesis version. The Megadrive version has different cutscenes, ingame music and more levels.
Game plays like shit and doesn't feel like the original version with controls feel laggy or downright broken
I play this game wen I was lil. Was a hard game to beat!!!
Technically a shortplay, if you think about it.
BuzzBomber No?
@@607 You don't save the princess if you take longer than an hour to finish the game, ergo in getting the good ending this qualifies as not being a "long" play.
BuzzBomber Ah, if that's what you mean, I get it. Some longplays here are less than 10 minutes, though, and are still longplays. :)
The Snes version is so superior...
I also like the Sega CD version because of the Anime cutscenes
I love the saga cd version
1:34 Um Jaffar? You wanna tell us something?
Awesome!
👍🏻
:)
Nostalgie
I should pick up the Mega CD version.
best version
24:50 He John McClane'd that shit.

Great channel man, congrats!
@usertheloset I played it on a 8bit Famicom man, but yeah, you're right.
Ótimo jogo do mega drive ou se preferir genesis
The map is so confusing. I don't think I ever managed to clear level 1
Best version.
This is painful! Especially when so many of the other versions out there have better music, better quality graphics AND exciting gameplay!
The last note being repeated is annoying.
Maybe that's why the player kept getting the bottles when he didn't need to, just to annoy everybody with the musical note that plays endlessly.
Friend ye mobile me kese download hoga play store per ye game a nhe raha??
THE tobias 🤣
Those blades are all for visual effects here, in original version Prince would have been cut himself in two long ago...
Is it me or does this game giving me an Aladdin vibe?
Well it's based pm the arabian nights aswell, so yeah
Aladdin is more to Disney version of Arabian Nights.
Good, but the SNES version is better.
Hay hacks de prince de snes geniales XD
multi-plattform games are always better on SNES 😋
Beautiful graphics on Mega Drive/Genesis. The intro is gorgeous too, but from all PoP releases, SNES one got the more content and better soundtrack of all.
The dos version is better but the snes true better than this version
Vahan Nisanian The SNES version was more of a remake than a port.
I’d say that the Genesis version is one of the better ports, though.
The First of Many
Andrew Montgomery Many what?
@@607. First of many Prince of Persia games
Andrew Montgomery Not really, the first was made 4 years prior.
I've never gotten this far in the game but then again only played it a handful of times. How in the world did you survive that jump/fall at 28:14??
He drank the lite fall potion
This is actually one of the worst ports of the game. The graphics look great and all, but the gameplay and controls were butchered and it's really easy to hurt/kill yourself unintentionally. Also, the combat is absolutely broken and lacks the depth and finesse the original game and the properly done ports had.
Agreed. I think too many "bells and whistles" had been put into the graphics.
Exactly, snes version was way better.
SuperNES version was the best
How do I add scanlines to this video?
wow, I didn't know mega drive version had some audio glitches
unconsidered1 Be aware this might be emulated, and the glitches could happen as a result of that.
Sega cd version is amazing
Just listen to this music... now listen SNES version music.
i still prefer Mac version in remakers or PC/Amiga orginal 16/32bit
The graphics are nice, and other than the SNES version the game does not suffer from slowdowns and jittering. But why did they reduce the music so drasically for this port?
The sound they use when you kill an enemy is just the same sound as if you die yourself. The triumphant sound which was normally used when you kill an enemy is the "level complete" sound here. Very lame! The long music originally played when you complete a level was dropped completely.
Enemy in level 6 is bigboy 😅
No music? Wtf?
The original from PC didn't had a whole soundtrack as well, only short sound cues, as Tengen did for this port.
Actually, it's the Genesis version (the one shown in this video) that has no in-game music. The PAL Mega Drive version has in-game music, an updated intro and additional levels.
This version is better than the Nes and Gameboy version
this is not the Mega Drive version... false advertising
My brother in Christ the mega drive and Genesis are pretty much the same thing 💀
@@minergamer65 But the game is not the same on the two systems. The Mega Drive (PAL) version has in-game music, additional intro animations and 4 additional levels compared to the Genesis (US) version shown in this video. So technically, wrathovgod5099 is correct.
snes version is better
the genesis version may look better than the super nintendo version but plays like shit

This Version Is So Horrible
I Prefer The Snes Version
The sega hard drive version of prince of Persia is not a very good game.
SEGA Hard Drive, huh ? lol

Why does the NES version seem cooler then this?
